AQ3 and the caviler roomFollow

Well, anyone whose been here probably knows exactly what this post is about, so I'll spare you the ranting and raving. I've been trying to help my small guild of friends through this quest for a week, and this room has me tearing my hair out. Does anyone have an effective strategy for dealing with this room? Or is it just wipe, wipe, wipe, get lucky, wipe, wipe, wipe? Are the other armor quests this bad with the glitchy mobs and stuff (if so I'll be skipping them)?

Stormhold is especially bad with gliches and mobs and all that nasty stuff. I too have had countless shards down there... I say you should keep at it. The quested armor is well worth the stats. I've done AQ4, and it was a ***** just because people would run all over the place, or lag out. Otherwise, it wasn't bad.

Good luck!

Ok... Lil background for ya.

I was one cavalier away from finishing my AQ3 quest.... one...
I was in a great group... then right at about the one cavalier mark 3 other camper groups came in and just kept taking em. so I said ***** it, I only need one, I'll come back tomorrow. It took me 3 days to get that one cavalier. I had 4% xp at the start.. and 208% when it was over. So I highly, highly suggest, you have two, count em two, healers, both templars in their 20's, a solid tank, and whatever else u want...

on a side note, the coolest thing I've ever seen happened down there. During the time of racking up a ton of xp debt cause of utter stupidity, one of those times this happened:.

We had all just died, in a raid of 2 groups, against cavaliers (somehow) so there was 100%+ of debt. Then, omw back to my shard in the cavalier room, I stopped in the atrium to wait for my group. Well, BOOM.. two scions appeared, both red with ^^ x2 on em and wiped out the WHOLE Raid again, PLUS the 4 other groups in the same room waiting to regroup... here's the cool part... I ran back to get shard #2 and from the middle of the stairs near ghoulbane, all the way to the atrium, layed dead body after dead body after dead body.. must have been at least 25 people.. wish I thought of taking screenshot but oh well.. it was just awesome to see soemthing that powerful just plow through the groups, almost instantly, cause it was an unplanned out of the blue pop on all dose po people.. including me.. gotta say that was one of coolest if not the coolest thing ive seen so far in this game.

I've been there a few times with different groups and sometimes as the only healer in group (when I was levels 21-23).

When you enter the room, stay in the corner on your right, right after the door. It's out of aggro range for cavaliers but you have to be careful since only one or 2 steps away from corner and they will aggro.

Fight in the room, not the hallway. The hallway often bugs the encounters and sometimes one of them disappears either breaking the encounter or making it impossible the finish and the whole group is stuck in encounter mode.

I'm druid/fury and I keep all my armor in the yellow/orange and have adept3 for my AC/AGI/WIS buffs (Willowskin and Wild Spirit). Those buffs are awesome to increase the defense and AGI of the group(more defense = less damage, more AGI = more dodging = less damage). In multiple mobs encounter, I usually end up "tanking" the extra mobs that the tank isn't taking care of. I keep nettleshield and regrowth up on both the tank and me and use bloom when my health or his gets to half.

I've noticed that the most difficult/heal intensive part of the fight is usually the first 30 seconds when the targets all use their special/power abilities at same time. Healer needs to be on his toes for those first 30 seconds but after that, it's usually smoother. For tougher fights, I often cast a regrowth (regen) just before the tank pulls so that there's already a regen effect to counter the first special attacks from the mobs.

BTW, if you think that part is bad, just wait until you have to help a mage do AQ4 in Crypt of Betrayal. Ire minions are a lot of fun, NOT.

Off-topic: For druids, I encourage you to make willowskin adept3. That is a truly awesome buff. It's a group AC/AGI/WIS/Magic/Mental/Divine buff and at level24 it gives me around 300AC more(probably around the same to other group members but haven't checked).

Well it can be done with a single Templar at 21st level just make sure you have some very good dps. We blew through the dungeon with me 2 boxing my 21 pally and 21 temp with 1 21 swashbuckler, 1 20 bard and 2 20 rangers. I was both the main tank and main healer and we never died! Was a great group but the key was the dps the rangers, bard and swashbuckler could put out. My pally held agro and they just went to town. I know this is not your typical setup but we blew through AQ3 and then went to the Crypt and did the same for AQ4. I would use that group again in a minute!
