Dual WieldsFollow

Anyone encountered any dual wield weapons that would combine to do more damage than a two hander of the same level?

Look at the delay in the weapons. Duel weiled weapons are usualy very fast.

Note that all the theives can use poison, this procs per weapon strike. So when duel weilding you can more than double your damage.

My Ranger can easily out damage most other physcial damage classes I come accross using poisons and multiple weapons.

I am a warrior, so I was just looking at it in damage range, and currently I have a two-hander that does 9-25 or something like that, and the best dualies I have seen (to buy) are 4-12, so if I bought two of them, I would only do a total of 8-24. Also, the delay doesn't stack up either. My two hander is a 3 sec delay, and these dualies are 1.8, so two of them would be 3.6. If anyone has links to some good dual wield weapons, please post them.

You do not add your delays. The delays are independent of each other.

I see, so actually I would be close in damage and have much less delay then. Sweet.

actually, in your example, it seems to me that every 1.8 sec, *both* would have a chance to hit, if your check against dw passes, so you have the possibility of 4-24 every 1.8 with those, instead of 9-25 every 3.0 with your 2h.

so, theoretically, in 9.0 seconds, you have the potential to hit for a max total of 75 (3*25) with your 2h, or a max total of 120 (5*24) with your dw weapons.

at least, that's the way it looks to me... i havent had a lot of xp as a melee, nor thought heavily about ratios in EQ2, but i do know that my predator's dw blades do a serious moulinex on mobs, though, when he was just mediocre with a 1h that had what looked to be a better damage number on it :).

The biggest advantage of dual weapons is the mitigation of any individual "miss" since weapons are quick. If you have proc'ing weapons, it would seem to be better to have fast weapons too.

All in all, I found the hand-axe to be the best dual weapon option for me. 1.3 secs, and better damage than the 1.2 base ones.

where did you get those hand axes, and what are the level restrictions on them?

I was using standard store bought iron hand-axes. 10th level needed.

Other good options include the stiletto from the nomad quest or a blackened iron shortsword, etc.
