Hello all!

I started anew again Friday. I am still trying to determin which is better, dual wield or sword and board. Anyone have input?

Also trying to see how far I can go without dying.

Dual Wield all the way. We do Damage, we're not there to take it Smiley: wink

Could not have said it better Teopeo. I partied with another Rogue that was using a spear, he hit harder but A LOT less so I would always end up with the hate because of the amount of constant damage I was doing (dual wielding axes).

Duel weild and long term DPS is great. Rogues easily have one of the highest DPS's in the game. I often draw more agro then the mages so you need to be very carefull. :)

Badland Stilettos, you can quest both : eq2.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?&eq2quest=265

first quest can be done with Sneak only

@ Tuzaa: Long range seems to be good damage. The Rangers (subclass of Predator class, other Pred subclass is Assasin) seem to be pretty good with DPS but I can't tell from experience since I'm in Freeport and therefore bound to become an Assasin, ask the good guys in Queynos Smiley: wink

(I already have 3 different ranged skills as Pred tho)

Good choice on the class =) You've already heard that scouts dish out the damage so I'll leave at that, cus they do. As to the question about the "Ranged" combat. I think I can answer that... IT RULES lol, seriously arrow nukage is awesome if you go Ranger.

I still spend the majority of my time in close combat duel wielding, but jump out when my ranged abilities are all ready to go, and dish out amazing damage... so much so that I'm able to draw agro near the end of the fight if I'm not careful.

You'll also find that faster is better when it comes to your close combat... go with 2 daggers of some sort. I've seen other Rangers + Assassins + Rogues use the higher damage spears, but you get less hits, and therefore less poison proc's. Over time the faster weapons are going to do better (I use Steel Daggers at lvl 24). You'll still hit for very nice damage with those, I have a highest hit for 327 (feel free to check out my toon's achievements, he's on Permafrost) which was rated 120 as far as the server was concerned yesterday.

I hope this helps ya a bit, goodluck!

I would do the Deer killing quest in Castleview... One of the rewards is a Tangled Horsehair whip... you can look it up here via that. It should be easy for you, and a good slasher. Another one is the Oakmyst tempered Sabre quest... You get it from some dwarf smith in SQ or NQ... Once again its on the site, just look up the Weapon.

At 15 or 16 you should be able to do the Quest for the Willow Wood Hunting Blade... that thing kicks butt, so much so I bought another off the broker a couple levels later.

Anyway, thats what I did, and it worked for me till 20ish.
