Hmm, I'd make it a tossup between watching a Dolphins game or reading any thread that mentions WoW or FF whatever for 9.

How about none of the above. Even with a combat-like tradeskill system, people still complain. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT MAN?! =P

I'm sure someone found it funny but they can probably get treatment.

I think they did a good job on tradeskills. It will never appeal to everyone and there are bound to be aspects that people don't like. Some people want instant gratification and would prefer store-bought single-tier combines to produce top-end gear. Others actually enjoy endless sub-combines (which is worrying too).

Maybe if instead of trade skilling, you had put 'waiting online to sell stuff'.

I still can't believe they did that. Selling when online only? Did the electrical utilities put SOE up to it? Or perhaps power supply manufacturers....

Waiting is fun! Then you get to sit and stare at the wall! You dont like looking at the fairly drab housing you have to sit in and endure when trying to sell instead of being out in the open world questing and xping?

Ahem, but honestly, this is a fairly poor market system. I cant fathom boosting my electric bill anymore then I have just to leave my computer on all night just to sell my items. I did it 3 times and I wont do it anymore. Its just to much of a hassle, not to mention the $200 electric bill I post a month already....Im sweet.

Just curious, if you do leave your character active all night in your room, do you generally sell everything you list?
#12 Dec 14 2004 at 8:38 AM Rating: Decent
it all depends on how much you are selling stuff for and how desirable the item is. I have had stuff on for days, lowest price around and not sold it.

Ya, there's a lot of items that people just don't want. You can't sell a lot of the app III scrolls for instance because of the common drop rate of Adept drops. Nobody's buying furniture, potions or food right now either but SOE has said they're taking steps to help improve that (labeling food and potions and furniture reducing upkeep on housing). Armorers, etc. are having a hard time as well because the quested armor is so easy to get and has better stats.

I go and gather, forest and mine, while I XP. I do it constantly. I come back to town and set up market while I sleep. I have yet to do it and not make at least 75 silver off the items, And No, I don't price gouge, I set my price as the lowest of any item I check at that time. Then I go to bed. My best night so far has been around 1g and 50s or so..

Honestly, I've come to well, endure the Tradeskill process. I still don't like it but I can tolerate it.

It's the Market System that is totally FUBAR and has earned my wrath. If you don't agree with me, take a sec and read my thread (Player Merchant System Done RIGHT) and look at the quote from PC Gamespy (link included) who say the exact same thing as I have (although better said I have to admit).

What possible reason could they have for making you sit in your room staring at the four walls while selling stuff? Does it add to the adventure? Does it add to the Suspension Of Disbelief? Or does it just add to their subscription fees?

The Merchant system is only slightly more fun that having your prostate examined by a Doctor with fat, cold fingers.

Actually, I do this for fun every now and then, after my computer gets all slow and nasty...

And I'm confused, do you like cleaning a toilet more than adventuring in EQ2? Why are you playing again?

I don't give a damn what you spell right or wrong. Just makes you look like more of an idiot, not me.

I commend you for your witty remarks and shrewed sarcasm, though. Well met.

Wow... first tradeskill system that I've really run across that's interactive...

Not too in-love with the merchant method, but the tradeskill system is far from boring, IMHO. If anything negative could be said, it's no more boring than any other tradeskill system out there. (Click combines anyone?)
