I honestly dont know how dial-up would handle it. But I know a gig of ram is highly recommended.

I think you might suffer some city lag on dial up, but it seeems like the rest would be ok, on extreme performance. Its a shame they dont have access to that preload tester thing without preordering it, which is how I got mine.

Man, zoning takes an agonizing amount of time on DSL, I couldn't imagine it on dial-up. I may be mistaken, but I thought that it said broadband was a system requirement. It should be fine with the rest of your system, but I think that dial-up may make it unplayable.

i hdial up it plays perfectly fine for me..yeah little lag in cities and zone times of about 20-30 seconds but other than that fine. Its the mem leak that really starts to hurt after awhile. And I can play on extreme outdoors but then it tends to lag a bit more but how awesome does it look tho.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it, but that 5200 FX card will struggle with EQ2 at anything higher than the lowest settings. Even then, it probably won't run all that well in the more populated zones.

Yeah I had to replace the graphics card, i run fine on 56k modem outside the city zones, no lag at all.

City zones <esp Qeynos Harbour and South Qeynos> are very laggy at peak times so i just play other chars or EQI

My ss specs are: P3 2.8, 512k Ram, 128 Graphics Card.

My wife has a spangly new PC and suffers almost as abad lag as me in the two zones i mentioned and she has Broadband. <750k connection>

The lag is now effecting me about 5% of the time as i am high enough to be mainly in the XP zones.

Nice thing is if the zone gets to crowded they just make another zone and any new people just go into the copy instead.

Zoning take about.. 8-10 seconds man.. that's not agonizing.

zoning times and lag are directly affected by the amount of ram your computer has. while you are zoning, your computer is loading the files for the next zone into memory. lag is also affected by the quality of your video card. connection speed can affect these things, but the ram and video card have the most direct impact.
