Hello All,

I was wondering im a 15 brawler/11 Scholar. Was wondering if anyone out there has gone the Alchemist route and made poisons and potions? I know they are unlabeled as of yet, but is there profit in making them and selling them to Players?

I'm having a hard time deciding between Jeweler/Scribe/Alchemist. I know everyone needs an Alchemist and there fairly easy to advance but I would like to do something different like Jeweler or a poisons and potions Alchemist not many of those I think, I play on the Steamfont Server.

Scribe I've heard is extremly hard to advance because of the AdeptIII rare components and such.

I just want to do a scholarly trade that will make money isn't extremley hard and expensive to level and will make money in the long run and benifit people.

Any information or opinons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bergil

Just a suggestion - perhaps look in the marketplace and see what is available for sale. I've noticed a glut on the market of spells and I've heard lots of players saying they are scholars. Maybe there are too many of them? Perhaps alchemy would be a less impacted field? That is what I've noticed on the Neriak server, lots and lots of trader made spells.

It is also possible I just havent looked when the alchemists, etc. are selling en masse, which of course would obviate my previous argument...blah, blah, blah...

Take a look at those two places for good info on this.

I have so far only made one poison that works - caustic whatever - lvl 11 or so. Thirst for Blood makes a poison that has no stats and is not usable. Bloodburst can be "used" but seems to produce no effect. I will test it again and scan the results more carefully - but it really seemed to never proc (poisons are a proc, more on that below).

The potions look screwy and way, way too short-duration (or weak) to justify their cost. The heal ones don't seem to do much, and the ones that grant stats - well - Laurent Solutions (if I remember right) are needed in each potion, and they are costly. Silver and a half? At that price I'd expect my potion to actually do something, and theydon't seem to.

The one poison that works, Caustic ___ (sorry its late and I can't remember the full name - it's the only 'caustic' one) gives the scout who uses it a buff that lets him occasionally proc poison damage. My rogue at lvl 11 or so got the occasional 20 pt damage attack off it. The buff lasts a long time (or until you die). So if the poison actually works, it's worth using. The posoin shop in ... S Q? It's on the map. I'm pretty sure it's S Qeynos - has lots of selections. GL
