Best duo?Follow

#1 Dec 11 2004 at 5:42 AM Rating: Decent
I'm just starting out - I'm looking for opinions of the best two classes for a group of 2 (my husband and I). Granted we will likely group a lot in-game, but due to our time of play, we will likely have to duo at times, and would like to be able to do so well.

Having played EQ1, I recall great combos were mage/necro, wizard/wizard. Are magic users still powerful in EQ2? Or is healer/melee a viable route? Has anyone figured out any truely winning combos?

Looking forward to your comments, thanks.

Me and a friend are currently running around as a crusader and a cleric that seems to be the best. I feel having the tanker and the healer are always a very wise combo. One to attract and hold MOBS at bay while the other serves as a support player healing and attacking foes when possible. Try this combo out if it doesnt work try something else best thing about this game is having multiple characters. Try alittle of everything if you like. But if I had to choose play a fighter and a cleric combo.

Brawler and Shaman would be good. Nice DPS, tanking ability, wards, heals and mob debuffs.

The problem with the necro/wizard/summoner is that SoE has totally gotten rid of kiting. You can root and nuke but in this game I think you will need someone to have a litte more health for when those hits do come. I also think that when you guys get into your 20's you will need a healer to take on any mob worth decent xp.

o.O what about inquisiter, shadowknight, and necromancer? o.O yeah its a triple but thats what my friends and I were going to do.. but, uh.. wouldnt any combo work well? like if you had a strategy I think any duo would work. Its just how you play it. I mean like with wizard/wizard, you dont have a tank, and you go all dmg or something lol.. and with cleric/crusader you have a tank and the strat is alot different. Since every class can solo, to me it would seem natural that any duo would work :-D

When you open it up to a triple instead of a duo there are plenty of different combo's that would work.

Aye, that's what I was thinking. Brawler seems to do the most DPS of all the tanks and their evasion complements the Shaman's wards perfectly.

my roomate and i are a guardian and fury
and we have been doing extemely well as duo team so far....

I think any healer/tank duo combo would be very successful.
