I know I have seen the merchant that sells language books, but I can't seem to remember. Anyone know where he is at in Freeport? Also, how many languages are there to learn (other that your own of course)?

The scribes in the Qeynos starting cities sell language primers for 12s each. The languages available are the races that start in the particular city.

Many or well not many but in each city there is one or two merchants that sell specific language tomes. I forget where they are too, same as I forget which merchant has furniture reward quests . . . much more interesting to me!!! I almost prefer furniture to loot but they give you both 8)
Do some races speak the same language, because I have encountered many different races and not had trouble communicating. I have found some I can't understand, but many races different than mine that I can understand.
Many of the people in the world speak some of the most common languages. Of course, there are those that only speak their own and it realy helps if you can talk with them. :) I belive having the proper language unlocks a few more quests. I picked up several books today and plan on checking it this weekend.

Does anyone know of language quests? I know of one, which starts by examining stacks of books in the mage tower in Qeynos. Haven't undertaken the quest yet, it is red at 16, but when I do I will post the results. I believe it is for a high end language.
