Are you upset that we can't sell any of our player-made stuff now because this is the absurd and heavy-handed way Sony decided to 'fix' a problem? How do you feel that only certain people who pay more get 8 characters - and you don't. Do you believe, like I do, that the clunky bazaar system for player-selling is a sneaky beancounter-inspired attempt to get us to buy more accounts - so we can have one to play with and one to sell with? Do you want to pressure Sony into making the game better?

Now, the hard part. Are you willing to do something about it?

Nothing we do will matter - some of you think. But I say ... maybe one mindless act of rebellion might make a difference. Remember back in grade school when a teacher ticked the class off, and the students all got together and did "book drops"?

It turns out that really scares the CRAP out of most teachers. And as players we're pretty much in the same boat visaviz Sony. They know we're hooked (kids must attend school) - so they don't see us as clients. We're their serfs. Their "helpless" second grade students. So let's get crazy and book drop!

I was thinking earlier if tonight we *all* did a feedback to protest some of these recent Sony decisions, if hundreds or even thousands of us did - it might get their attention. But that wouldn't work. We couldn't all agree on the same thing - some of us are more ticked at them for one thing than another, etc.

But if we all just did "/feedback BOOKDROP!" - it's weird enough that it just might rattle them. If you are with me on this one, just go in tonight and do /feedback BOOKDROP! If you can muster the energy, do an /ooc in antonica or commons and ask other players to /feedback BOOKDROP! if they have any issues with Sony. You don't need to say what they are - just BOOKDROP!

That will force them to wonder what the hell is going on. It will rattle their cage. Well, sigh, I know not many of you will actually do this. I wish you would. I'm going to.

Hey, it's fun to raise hell and rebel! Give it a shot maybe. Thanks.

I've been reading the forums here today, and have, until now, decided to keep silent on all the issues raised. I decided I'd have my say though for fun.

First, I have to say I don't particularly agree with the way people have been presenting their grievances today. Most want to start trouble by getting everyone to quit the game, threaten to, blah blah blah. However, there were good points made by others.

Not being able to sell player-made items to NPC vendors is pretty dumb. It was a fairly bad thought out temporary fix to a very real problem. The thing is though, the key word is temporary. Its all over the forums, it's only a temporary fix to stop the few recipes that are churning out way too much money. That doesn't take away from the fact that it was a bad decision to make *All* player made items sell for nothing, but alas, its not forever. Until they make their final tweaks, I'll hold my breath.

Secondly, I find it pretty fair that people who pay more get 4 more character slots. It's a perk of the all access plan. Four char slots has been known for quite some time, so its not as if they took anything away from us. I would like to see them maybe offer the same thing in a future expansion, or even let us pay a buck a month extra or something for a slot or two more, but its a step in the right direction. It's better than having no options at all, dont ya think?

I agree with the Bazaar system. I don't believe that it should be like it is, nor do I believe it should be free to sell offline. It should be something more like UO, SWG, and other games combined. Make it so that you can sell as we do now for free, or possibly hire an NPC merchant to stay in our homes for a fee (be it commission or by the week), or something. I tend to play late night/early morning and I can *never* sell when Im sleeping, because a few hours after I go the servers go down, or the game decides to kick me. It's also more of a pain than in EQ1 since we have so few char slots :) I had a dedicated seller back in that game, who sold ALL of my chars goods.
However, I don't believe the bazaar system is a beancounter inspired idea, I just think it's a bad idea, period.

With all that said, I am going to send feedback tonite. Im not going to say BOOK DROP..because well..thats weird :) I will give them the constructive criticism that I would hope everyone would give..not a flame, just lovely advice. If they dont take it, sobeit. Nothing happening currently makes me dislike the game any less..so I definitely won't be quitting over it.

PS - If we did that book drop stuff back in my school the teacher would of paged the two nice police officers who patrolled the hallwalls to intimidate us :)

EDIT - Has to post this, since I found it funny. Whilst I was writing my /feedback, a pack of wild bears decided to attack me in an area I thought I was safe in :) I think someone didn't want me sending that feedback! Hehe....ended up being two /feedbacks long :)

Isn't it amazing how sometimes waiting for, oh say 24 hours, can fix a problem before you start screaming? As you may have noticed, the 10 Dec patch has brought back selling to merchants with adjusted prices. Sometimes, in order to fix something, you have to break it a little more.

Respectfully, I couldn't agree less with "sometimes to fix something you have to break it a little more". In my view stopping player selling to merchants for any length of time is lame.
