Outfitter Recipe/Ingredient QuestionFollow

#1 Dec 09 2004 at 8:55 AM Rating: Good
I'm very curious to find a certain recipe for an ingredient I need for making some Tier II Armors on the Loom. I of course have the initial Threadbare Pattern recipe (pre-level 10) but I seem to be missing the Burlap Pattern recipe (post-level 10). I'm currently a level 14 Outfitter, with all my books scribed to this point, including Advanced Books & Essentials. I'm wondering if this is another co-dependent recipe like others I've seen, having the Tier 1 version but losing ability to make Tier II & III to other Artisan Crafts. Please help me out if you know, as no one on Everfrost seems to be selling these patterns and they are required as far as moving on to my Armoring for Iron Chainmail and the like sorts.

Yes, burlap patterns are one of those interdependencies created once you get to level 10 artisan. And sometimes expensive/hard to get. I need iron buckles this morning, the only ones for sell almost 18 silver per! I am creating an alt to make the things I need, tired of buying stroma wash, stroma resin, and buckles for absolutely ridiculous prices. (Befallen server)
Other than that, aren't tradeskills fun? Good luck crafting.

Burlap YARN and Burlap PADDING are not available to Craftsman. I don't know if these are the only two burlap recipes that Outfitters can make, but as an 18 lvl Craftsman, I have to go to my Oufitter friends for these two items. It seems I can make all other burlap products.

it would be best to get to know a bunch of crafters that way you can make deals and agreements with them . like if they need something you make for them if you can and vice versa. I like how they make it so you have to rely on other people for certain stuff, it kinda pushes you into trying to meet people which is what MMOs is kinda. But if you dont like socializing you can always by from brokers and get charged an arm and a leg :(.

Yes, I just found on EQ2-artisan.com that (even though it's not the recipes name on the site) that Burlap Patters are for level 10 Craftsman (listed on the site as merely Generic Burlap). Looks like I'm going to have to get a second Alt going, I already have a Scholar Alt to help with Tempers, etc.

Thanks for the quick responses, I appreciate it ^^

Get your wholesaler society level to 10 and you can buy the tempers, oils, washes, etc. from the vendor.

Oh sweet, I was not aware of this...I'm definately going to have to bust some hump over at the Silent Blade Society! Still, I think I'll get my two alts to Scholar and Craftsman classes just so that I can make the interdependant items to sell on my main.

Thanks for the info tid-bit though, Warlord...much thanks!

One other thing tho, you can scribe any book based upon your skill in that particular craft, I dont know at which level you can, but as a level 14 outfitter I WAS able to scribe the craftsman AND scholar essentials book. Now getting these books can be a bit hard, since you wont have acccess to the guilds where they are sold, so you would have to buy them from someone else. Not to mention the fact since they will be scholar/craftssmen receipes, your skill at making them will be shoddy at best. I find it hilarious on my server those who learned you could do this quickly spread rumors to the effect that it had been fixed. I later scribed both the books myself. I was even warned so much by others to keep this information under my hat lest I be chastised by the crafting community. To those folks, get bent, its tier 2 essentials for goodness sake. Let people make their crude patterns in peace for a little while longer.

Ahh the everlasting question... to cheat or not to cheat. And yea, exploiting a bug is cheating. It doesn’t matter how easy it is.

Having said that, I only thought it was the level #10 essential books that could be scribed across “crafting boundaries”. Yes, I cheated too and got the outfitter book so I could make the burlap and iron things I can't make as a craftsman but haven’t gotten around to doing any of it yet. Hopefully I'll have some done before they yank it.

Still waiting for the dern refined basil recipe (sigh.....)
