Divine awakening can be cast on group mates. It gives them all an item that they can use on you if you die. It will revive you with minimal debt. You should cast it on every member of your party. If even 1 survives, they can rez you and then you can rez the rest of them.

Thats what i thought. So in theory would this work??

I was doing the zarvonns tower access quest last night in the commonlands. Im level 13 so all the mobs surrounding the tower are red, and grped which makes it impossible for me to get to the top.

Anyway i see some higher level player running from the tower with a big train of mobs following him. So i take me chance and run into the tower unnoticed. I proceed to run to the top of the tower where the NPC i need to talk to is, when i get whacked by a stray tortured soul right by the feet of the NPC.

So could i then grp with a high lvl player, cast divine awakening on him and he run up to revive me, as there no chance of me getting to my shard on my own.

Divine Awakening: that little like icon in your inventory; It give all non-priestess classes the ability to revive anyone even the priest, in the cases where you are the only surviver in your group

Divine Awakening has to be casted before you hit the dirt. Then the non-priest with the feather can revive you. Also, once you have revivied yourself you can not get a rez. At this point you have 2 choices:

Group with someone way above the mobs so they con-gray to you. Then you can walk up and get it with out argo.

Wait 3 days and the shard will re-absorb into you. Great time to work on tradeskills!!

To clarify what the above poster said, if u group w/ someone way above u in lvls - what is grey to them is now grey to you.

You can walk right past dangerous mobs, and some will even "cringe" from you in fear. It's funny.

I'd do this to finish the quest and to get yer shard back. I think that dying in a really bad place and having no other option to get your shard back is too harsh. In old EQ people could drag your body for u - but this new system - well, your best option is to hope a nice, very high lvl person comes along and is willing to help u in this way. I'm sure the good folks (hah) at SoE didn't intend this, but it's EQ2's version of corpse-dragging (until they nerf it).

I'd have to agree with the evilgnome. This game seriously needs an ability to drag corpses.

The use of high levels to group with and avoid aggro trivialises a lot of the quests.

I was in Antonica the other day and someone was doing the "Welcome to Qeynos" quest which is basically just a run around various places. It is designed to be doable at level 6 when you arrive in the city. All you have to do is stay alert, con the mobs and dodge the aggro ones.

Well this person moaned on and on about how it was impossible to do at that level and eventually someone took pity and grouped with him so he could run to the Tower of Vhalen and back.

The next day he is on asking for a high level to group with him so he can do another simple run.

What is this person learning about the game? That the response to a non-grey mob with a red rim is to seek higher levels till it goes grey. Pathing, aggro range etc, etc will all be a total mystery to them.
