I was checking out the EQ2 System Scan site the other day and I have a question... It says the recommended processor is 2.0 GHz, then it said I had a 1.8 GHz processor! I could've sworn when my friend built this computer for me he told me it was a 2.5 GHz processor... Just to check with you guys will a AMD Athlon XP2500+, ~1.8 GHz processor cut it for EQ2?

The Athlon 2500+ is indeed 1.8Ghz. I am guessing your friend found it eaiser to just tell you it's a 2.5ghz instead of explaining the difference.

AMD Chips can handle 4 instructions per clock cycle instead of Intel's 2. By doing this, it processes more instructions quicker, thus making it work faster at a lower clock speed. THe CPU is just about equal for all intents and purposes as an Intel 2.5Ghz. It will run EQ2 OK.

More importantly is what Video Card you have....

Hey man, I use Athlon xp 2500+ running at 1.8

Runs fine, and 43-48 degrees celcius (Where it should be) and I only have a 9$ cheap heatsink on it. So yea.. not a bad CPU. Plays EQ2 well.
