How would these be consistent with the other goals sony has professed regarding balance between classes?

Consistency has always been a low priority for SOE. You argue correctly but anyone with experience of SoE would find your conclusions amusing.

Pickpocket was always a bit of a mixed blessing in EQ. It served no usefuol purpose except it was required to have a high level of skill to complete your epic.

The rest of the thread was amusing - as amusing as telling a newbie zone to hit /q to see what quests they were on (/q quit the game in EQ)

I remember a raid in EQ1..
We were raiding ikkinz 4 I think and there was a drop that everyone wanted.
I typed
/em has looted blahblah uber shield
That was fun.. Some actually fell for it.. :p
"WTF are you doing Bumbi??!?!"

Hard to say.. Mby there was 5-6 people who reacted in /raidsay..
Half was like "WTF!!" and the other half was like "rofl"..
Probably a few more who felt for it for a few seconds and but never said anything..
I got a angry tell too.. :p

i had a friend who would be mean to newbies in eq1 ... he'd invis, /anon, and /em has stolen 100 platinum from you!

they'd all freak, even though none of them had a way to even *own* a single platinum piece at that point. oh, and he wasnt a rogue... he was a cleric :x.

and then there was charming the skellies and parking em in front of the newbie bind point ... they'd all freak on zoning in... if they were good sports about it, they'd get buffs and help :). aww, who'm i kiddin.. they got buffs and help anyway ... but then later on they'd ask necros for haste and clarity ;).

LOLOLOLOLOL I cant believe this thread is this long.............."So-n-So steals 2 silver from So-n-so" is by far one of the funniest pranks in the EQ world, but nothing tops the /q to see quests.....I remember being able to sit in Gfay and /oocin back and forth with a friend talking about what qsts and how to check them and then checking the /who to see about 10-15 <Linkdead> noobs, geezus this makes me lmao even now. But i have had my share of pranks pulled on me, so its only fair, and to those of you who get pissed off about stupid **** like this lighten up, its only a game.
