Too bad they didn't keep the idea. My class was chosen because I read months ago that boats would play a big role in the game. You were supposedly able to own your own. I chose Swashbuckler a long time ago just for that reason.
Anyone know what happened to the boats? Will they ever add them you think?

Maybe they didn't get rid of them.. how are we suppose to get to Thunderring steppes, and permafrost? And enchanted lands? Then again.. I haven't been that high of a lvl yet either, so I wouldn't know, maybe there's a big teleporter.
Thundering Steppes is accessed through Antonica or Nektulos Forest. So that one's definitely not in need of any boats :) As far as permafrost, thats anybodies guess, and prolly some long time beta testers know. Any around? :)

I actually found an answer, and its an unfortunate one. Back in Beta there were boats connecting Antonica, TS, Nek Forest, and Common Lands. They were taken out due to major bugs (such as zoning into a zone with multiple instances.)
There was also big plans for player owned boats, but that was scrapped too.
Way to suck out some of the immersion. I really hope they put boats back in, and do it in a way so its entertaining to travel on a boat. Like have Kings Court stations set up so you can play against other players lol.

they'll prolly have boats in one of the expansions

Yea.. not that big a deal to me anyways.
The main reason the boats were taken out was that they made travelling between Qeynos and Freeport trivial. You could make the entire trip without stepping off the docks.
