Question referring to basic combat..Follow

#1 Dec 07 2004 at 12:36 AM Rating: Decent
A friend told me that he thought a group con color referred to the difficulty of the entire group of mobs rather than each one in the group. Like if a group og 3 gnolls each were blue, then it would be the same as fighting a solo blue gnoll. I immediately disagreed, my experience differed, but is this actually true?

Yes.

In my experience one blue(solo) is usually tougher than a 2-mob blue(group). Taking on two blue(solos, meaning they are technically seperate encounters) is about the same as one blue+(group).

Kinda depends on your lvl vs the mobs' lvl ranges. On the Isle of Refuge, when killing skellies, 2 blues(group) were a piece of cake and one blue(group) would take me to near death. But as I lvled higher, I could take on a blue+(group) with relative ease.

Yes, as the above poster stated, encounters are conned for the difficulty of the entire encounter.

I.e.

1 Blue Group ++ ~= 1.5 Blue Group + ~= 2 Blue Group ~= 4 Blue Solo

That is all approximate comparisons.
