Question about Craftsman/OutfitterFollow

#1 Dec 06 2004 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, i am a lvl 14 craftsman, and now that i am looking at the situation i think i would rather be an outfitter and then go tailor is what i want to do more...well what i am wondering is if i go back to that lady that made me a certifided craftsman at lvl 10, can i switch to outfitter and still stay lvl 14? or can i even switch at all? also what i am wondering is if i switch to outfitter if possible and it puts me at lvl 10, then have i lost those levels i gained on craftsman if i try to go back?

I'm not sure I understand exactly what your saying - but no - once you make your choice, you cannot change it.

Yeah, this part really stinks, doesn't it? You are stuck, sorry.

Sony is going to take a beating on this over the coming months, and my prediction is that they are going to lighten up.

I will make a prediction. They will eventually let all players do all skills, but at a "lesser" rate or lesser skill level than someone specializing in it. Or only specialists can make certain uber combines - something like that.

Sheesh, as it stands if you want good bags, good bank boxes, and good spell upgrades, you need 3 diff artisans on your account. And that's a "whole lotta clickin' goin on..." (i.e. Carpal Tunnel time).

Until they make this change (it might take a year), here is a suggestion. In a big zone like Antonica or Commons try /ooc-ing until you get another artisan who has the skill you need talking to you. Suggest you guys do a big trade, like 4 pristine packs for 4 pristine bank boxes. Or a set of armor for several App 3 spells. Whatever makes sense. This will let you avoid the insane prices on the player market. Hope this helps.

Oh, if you can make tier 2 food and drink - don't be too upset. Apparently it helps you regen health and power much faster between fights. When players start to realize this there will be more of a market for it. Anything to reduce downtime is always good. GL!

Well, I couldn't see all players making all things. Otherwise we would all be casters, all healers, all fighters etc. I think the idea is that we do need each other and Sony wanted it that way.

Here is my suggestion, and I started this very early on (I'm 18 lvl Craftsman currently). Make friends! And make them as soon as possible! I talk to people while I'm harvesting. Eh, some don't talk back, but many do. "What you looking for today?" or "Care to trade a stack of roots for a stack of lead?" Whatever.... I have made both outfitter and scholar mates and now we trade whatever each other needs. Other than the added bonus of having someone to chat with on those long nights of crafting :)

p.s. You can always make another character with a different artisan skill. Take a bit longer, but eventually you'll have what you need.
