Time travel - Strange occurrence when fightingFollow

I've been encountering something in a few of my fights. Too lazy to shuffle through the other pages (I don't have a premium account) and saw no threads on first page to match. So, here goes...

I have discovered the art of time travel when fighting mob(s)! For my example, I am a level 19 Warrior punking a group of 4 green con gnolls. One is a shaman and the remainder are soldiers.

First I have Soldier's Stance (correct name?), Food and water. Then getting myself into position (where I want to be fighting) and buff up with Call to Arms, Battle Tactics (not all the time, however) and if it's up Gnoll's Master Rage.

Next, I mosey up close enough for a shot from me bow and target the Shaman. Boom! They're after me like rabid munchkins after me shins and I back up to my "camp". I unleash a few HO's at the Shaman and he casts stuff at me, while the soldiers are pawing at me armor.

Suddenly, they disappear from my camp and appear where they were originally standing, cleaning each other and whistling a grand tune. They've got full health.

I'm standing there with nicks and bruises and my partially filled power bar, confused.

This happen to any of you? I suppose I should file bug reports, but these events do not happen often. Just weird.

Yes, it happened to me on the Isle of Refuge as a mage soloing Quagmaul and Bladefin. I thought it was some tpye of code that forced players to group these mobs because I'd beat either one to the point where one more hit would kill them then they just regain full health and run off like I never even engaged them. Very frustrating cause I beat Bladefin to near death 5 times with the same results. I though maybe I was too far away from him on account of the bind spell. Nope. Other people(another mage and a fighter) after me tried to kill Bladefin solo, but got the same result. I then partied with the fighter and we killed him.

Later when this happened fighting Quagmaul another player got him after he magically recovered and walked off and killed him. I sent a bug report. I soloed Bladefin with my erudite fighter that I created later down the line and had no problem. That's when I sent in the 2nd bug report if they didn;t get the first.

one possiblity is your camp might have been outside their range. If you do it just right you can back up in some areas and the mobs just "poof" - this happens to me with the thugs that wander antonica

Yup, same thing has happened to me 5 or 6 times. It seems to happen when I'm fighting the gnoll groups, like you mentioned you were. It's really weird. They just all the sudden pop back to where they were standing as if I'd never engaged them in the first place. I was thinking it had something to do with a way to prevent kiting because when I've tried to kite, the same thing happens...the mobs instantly have full health all the sudden.

Also, I'll notice on freak occasions that my mana and health - even though they may be really low - will all the sudden pop back to 100% right as a mob I'm fighting dies. It's nice, cause then I don't have to wait for the regen, but I think that's a weird bug too because it does it very rarely, but enough where I've noticed it.

And another thing, last night I was fighting in a camp and was almost done with the final mob...when the whole CAMP disappeared. I was like what the heck is this? Come to find out, the whole gnoll camp disappeared and respawned somewhere else....it just happened to happen while I was in the middle of a fight.

Madeline it is not a bug when you regain health and power at the end of a fight. If you check your EXP bar when this happens you will see that you have filled the blue bar up and filled a space in the top bar. So there are 10 freebie replenishes per level.

I may be wrong, but it is actually only 5. You are awarded full health and mana at every 20%. So it would be 20,40,60,80,100.

I think it is every 10%.

I have seen this happen as well, and it has either been when I try to pull the critters (orcs in my case) a ways away from where they were standing, and once or twice it happened when I accidentally looted one of the first guys I killed, which broke the encounter, and then they walked back to their spots, including the one I had killed.

I can reproduce this every time however on semi-special pop mobs if I pull them too far away from where the pop, so I imagine that is the larger factor.

Ah, thank you for the replies. Seems one will have to gauge how far to have their safe camp spot to pull the mobs, then? Not too bad, at least until the adds start wandering near. :(

I should add that I only noticed the mob popping outside. Not once have I seen it happen in a dungeon. I could be wrong though, this is just what I have seen, or not seen as the case may be.

One time I pulled some Gnolls and by the time they got to me they had little crossed out locks by their names, which I interpreted as meaning the encounter was broken.

Since I had gotten an extra mob on accident as well do to aggro range my wife and I started running. We were by the Gnolls north of the Coven woods when I started sprinting. I ended up getting chased all the way to blackburrow and having to zone to get them off me..... Then my wife who was still halfway across the zone saw them running after her and she had to zone to BB as well.

Never had an encounter show up broken before or since, and never had one chase me nearly so far... Anyone else ever have this happen?

I have noticed all of these as well. (Camps disappearing, mobs despawning right as you're about to kill them, and the spontaneous health/power regen after a fight for no apparent reason, not that I'm complaining about that one).

I've had the mobs despawn on me a couple times too.. both times in Vermin's Snye, so that throws the 'outdoor only' theory out the window.
