Enchanted Lands Access Guide Helpful HintsFollow

#1 Dec 06 2004 at 6:00 PM Rating: Decent
No doubt many people are getting into there 20s now, and started to think about doing access quests, one thats proberly been hinted at is the Enchanted Lands (Misty Thicket) since thats where a lot of Tier 4 harvest goodies are, and a ton of nice mobs to hunt, however getting there isn't as easy as some guides claim and I think the reason is in a recent update the final mob has been beefed up, come guides say this for the final encounter.

"The first three waves are level 27 foulmists. The next three waves are level 28 nightwretches. The final wave is a Group x 2 boss (Lord Zaavan) and his henchman. Even though the boss is tagged as a Group x 2 mob, you can defeat him with a single group of level 25 characters. Expect a very tough fight, however. This is not a trivial encounter by no means."

We attempted the crossing with this set-up of a group.

lv 27 Shammy
lv 27 Ranger
lv 26 Templar
lv 26 Berserker
lv 25 Wizard
lv 25 Conjuror

Fully buffed up, warded and full with Refreshing Whisky regen drink, the normal encounters was not a problem at all, very laggy as they at least 8 in each group, we got to the Lord himself, conned orange ^^x2 to me at lv 27, we tried it and failed badly and was forced to evac. He hits for at least 500+ and has around 300+dmg AoEs, the shammys ward was no way near powerful enough to stop any of the damage done, we did manage to take him down to about half HP before calling it a day, but we did manage to get some ideas on how it could be done.

First off, I think this quest should be raised to at least lv 30, 25 is enough to do Part 1 and Part 2 without problems but the final part isn just not enough, if the whole group was around lv 30 and had a mezzer in the group, I think it would definately be possible to take him, still wouldn't be easy but I'd bet my money on the group could do it.

Good Luck!

I had success with the final encounter with a group setup as follows:

28 Templar
28 Shadow Knight
26 Guardian
27 Conjuror
25 Conjuror
27 Mystic

The final boss was extremely difficult but we managed to win with everyone out of power. I think having this access quest flagged for level 25 is just right. This would give the majority of people the ability to slowly do parts 1 and 2 and work there way to the final boat ride over several levels. I think a group of lvl 28's would be just perfect.

Does anyone know if Isle of Zek quest is similar to this boat ride?

Lorlack Cogspinner
28 Conjuror

You're proberly right, I still think that a mezzer would work wonders on this access quest.

As for Zek, I completed that one yesterday and I can tell you its far easier, it just takes much longer to complete since you'll be walking more than you'll be fighting, the boat ride is a walk in the park, just stay right at the back of the boat since the first 5 encounters will spawn at once but not aggro, just get someone to pull 1 group at a time, until all those have been killed, then theres a slight wait time for a harder set of orcs to spawn, then the 2 named orcs will spawn, one is you'll already have killed several times over lol but the main orc isn't that easy but a heck of a lot easier than the EL boss.

Once arriving at Zek, check out bogstrutter for a simple orc killing quest, the reward is excellent!

Does every single indiviudual have to do this to get access or can you just be apart of the adventuring? I guess i'm just confused on how it works. Does everyone in group have to start the quest and go through every single step or can they just be a part of the group?

As far as I understand, everyone who wants to progress into either the Enchanted Lands or Zek will have to complete these quests. Basically, these are the next level of the Antonica -> Thundering Steppes and Commonlands -> Nektulos Forest progression. They have small zones off of them and all the cool tier 4 harvestables in them.
