Why are all you people getting bent out of shape? All I am doing is showing you the threads. They are all on the first page for crying out loud. This thread is call ATTN: New Players. It is like 5 threads under this on the first page.

Fill up this forum with redundant threads, I don't give a shit anymore.Smiley: drool2

And Lexas, watch me lose sleep over that comment.Smiley: rolleyes

I don't think that they were objecting to your logic ffreak... :)

The "Hey buddy" on top of your sig kinda made you come off as being a bit harsh, that's all...

LMFAO, you think saying hey buddy is harsh? Wow, I don't even think I have a response to that.

Maybe it's my southern manners... "Hey Buddy" sounds like a NYC cop from when I was up there...

"Hey Buddy! Ya mind? I'm walkin here!"

EDIT: Incedentally, I like the thread you created with the additional links... :) Very helpful for newcomers.

Maybe its just because I am from the midwest. I call everybody buddy, or bud. Like hey bud or how are ya buddy? Guess I will try to be more careful.

Thanks, I try to be helpful on the main sites. Although don't ever try to go up against me or some of the other characters in The Asylum, we can be real stinkers!Smiley: wink

heh... no doubt... I lurk over there sometimes. :) I think the conversation are a tad cold for my taste in joining in, but it's fun to read!

Thanks for taking the time to post (or repost) the info here.

Couple of corrections, however:

On Tradeskill Tasks, the character that actually receives the task must himself harvest whatever it is you must to finish the task. You can't buy it from other players or have an alt harvest it- the Tradeskill Taskmaster won't accept the items. I tried this last night with my 12 Bard who was assigned to harvest 15 tubers (Tier 2 from Roots). I had my 19 Summoner harvest the tubers (the mobs are all grey or green to him where Roots are plentiful), put them in the shared vault, had my Bard pick them up and the Taskmaster wouldn't take them.

On Harvesting skill levels, remember that SoE lowered those dramatically in a patch this past weekend. Whereas you used to have to be 40+ to harvest Tier 2 materials, it's only 20-ish now. I'd imagine that Tier 3 materials are probably 60-ish.

I've got mixed feelings about this. While I do acknowledge that it was a problem having level 20-25 characters all over the noob areas harvesting every node in sight to skill up and this will undoubtedly reduce that to a great degree, I think the 'dumbing down' or skill-lessening might be a bit too much. I could've lived with 30-ish to get Tier 2 and 70-ish to get Tier 3. Still, I applaud the intent.

You do not have to harvest the items, you can buy or trade for them.

Until recently I did this quest 50-100+ times a night, now I have some group members doing it to collect funds. :)

The prices have not stabalized yet, so a quick key and you can tripple your investment fairly fast.

OK, I just HAVE to ask, and I probably should already know, but just what does this do? Does it make your toon be in a happy or sad mood? (Seriously...)

If you're going to add correction, might as well add that the trivial loot code thing, while not 100% myth, is largely a myth. You can indeed get chests from grey mobs, aswell as solo mobs with a full group. It does seem less likely, but it still does happen. I've seen both happen both during beta, and after release. And I mean, i've seen them first hand.

I for one, am a frequent visitor, and I missed the other post like this. Is it named something different? Anyways, thanks a lot for posting this up, I didn't know a lot of it.
