I have just finished my bard quest today. I was wondering if any of you guys seek out bards to party with you. Are they in high demand for parties? And what are some advice that current bards can give a newbie.

Bards are mostly buff giver in the group. they dont have high dps compare to other scout class. but since Bard and enchanter type class are the only class who can haste, they have medium demand depends on how well the group leader knows about Bard/Haste buffs. I think Shaman has Haste buff but seems Shaman always focus on heal not like those in EQ 1. Bad thing is Bard, I mean troubador only not Diega , doesnt have Mezz untill Lvl 50.

Most of the current EQ 2 players are from FF11, they dont know much about Bard even though FF11 have bard class. Normally group leader only has Healer and fighters in their mind, they will just fill any class into the empty group slot.

But I would think Bard would has a high demand at high lvl since they can give out high DPS compare to the other Haste class, and they can buff when they are running( yes. other class need to stand still to cast spells ) so bard is good. USE THEM!

Bards are not bad DPS, they just aren't as high as other scouts on an individual basis. The thing to remember, though, is that bards boost the DPS of the entire party with not only haste but other attack/damage buffs and defense debuffs. If you think a couple of rangers are high DPS, watch what happens when those two rangers bring a bard along!

Coming from a Ranger I agree... My DPS (which is already quite nice) is even nicer with the addition of a bard! Gotta love the combo's people, seems that all class's kick butt now =)
