Good vs. Evil zones don't really seem balancedFollow

I have a small rant with the way that the game seems geared so far. Granted, I am only 28th level so there is a lot still to see and everything I am whining about (yes I know I am whining) may change.

Everything in Freeport is more difficult, and the corresponding zones suck in comparison. What do I mean by this?

Well lets take the Zek access quest vs. the Enchanted Lands access quest. If you are a Freeport native the Zek quest is agonizingly difficult, because you have to enter Qeynos. Not to mention after each step you can use your Call ability if you are from Qeynos, but have to hoof it back if you are from Freeport. So tack on at least another 2 hours if you are from Freeport, and you had better have a guide.

Now contast this to the Enchanted Lands quest in Nektulos forrest. This quest is just as easy for citizens of Qeynos as it is for citizens from Freeport. So, advantage to Freeport.

Speaking of Nektulos, the lag is insane, the mob density is crazy and don't get me started on the fish. In short, the zone is frustratingly brutal. Fairies for the armor quest anyone? I spent many levels there questing and leveling, and never have I been so frustrated.

Last night the lag got so bad that the game would freeze for 30-60 seconds at a time. So my group said ***** it and went to explore Thundering Steppes. Not surprisingly the mobs were the same level.

What did surprise me was that there was NO lag. Why? Because unlike Nektulos TS will actually instance when it gets too crowded. The zone was wide open so it was easier to watch for aggro, the mobs were easier for the same level. Far fewer mobs aggroed on sight. Then we discovered Varsoon's. The xp rolled in at an insane rate, and the loot was incredible.

So comparing Nektulos to Thundering Steppes once again Qeynos is the clear winner. No wonder people for Qeynos are, on average, higher level. They have easier zones.

Some might argue that Nektropos castle is great xp and loot, and true it is on par with Varsoon's. The difference is you can only enter the castle once a week, and getting to it is much more challenging that getting to Varsoon's.

So am I griping? Yeah. I love the game, and so far its been great. But I am a little shocked at the disparity between Freeport and Qeynos zones.

Is there a way or a need to fix this? Probably not. But I wish I had known about TS before wasting a week in Nektulos.

Also, the goodies have a much better 20's dungeon. Stormhold has way better easy to obtain loot than Fallen Gate. Stormhold doesn't require a key either and you can find great camps there unlike FG. Also, Antonica has way more resourses than commonlands.

Just some observations I've made. My friends and I(all evil)have envaded the goodie continent for these reasons =)

So you want a role playing game where the choices you make don't matter.

Hmmmmmmm - are you sure ?

P.S. I started with a good character in Qeynos (on Lucan D so no sharing) and levelled up to the mid teens. I then did the same in Freeport - I found that the Freeport character took way less time to level and I had no problems at all with it.

I put it down to the fact that the first time I was learing the ropes whereas the second time I knew a lot of the basics - maybe your week in NF made TS seem a lot easire than it would have been a week earlier.

I have to agree on tihs one. I have a 19 from qeynos and a 21 in Freeport. Freeport is BY FAR much worse. Don't even get me started on FG either.
