Priest...what to choose?Follow

#1 Dec 05 2004 at 10:01 PM Rating: Decent
I have recently created a dwarf priest who is now lvl 9 and im doing his class quest right now in Qeynos. I have played EQ1 and i am new to EQ2 so im familiar with the traditional classes of cleric, shaman and druid. I think im suited to the priest type of character seeing how in EQ1 i had both a cleric and a druid and played both up to their 50s, but now im wondering about all the new priest classes in EQ2. Defiler, Fury, Mystic, etc. Whats the difference in them? I dont realy want to pick something i've already played before in EQ1 but i was thinking about shaman because a friend of mine told me they were nice because of their slow and that the healing difference between shaman and cleric wasnt as vast in EQ2 as in EQ1 but I am interested in hearing details about the other variaties of the priest class so please post with your opinion and advice.

I have a level 16 Summoner and a level 15 Shaman, and I love the Shaman. I love the spells, the heals, the slow, the food/water summon, all of it. It's a really good class to solo with and also a really good group class because you can both heal and fight decently - plus you can rez. It's the perfect class for me because while I do like to group, sometimes I get sick of it because of all the various issues with other players (i.e. someone's always saying "uh, sorry guys I gotta go"). So I can quest/solo when I'm fed up with grouping...and then also don't have any trouble finding a group either when I'm ready for some power exp and loot.

Im a defiler and so far it's pretty good. Not as many DOT's like in eq1 but Defilers get more. Mystics are the better healing shamans, but if I wanted to heal I would have been a cleric.

I've been pondering this question myself. Having chosen one character for each of the base classes, the only one I'm undecided on is my priest.

My EverQuest 1 main was a Halfling druid. I chose druid in the beginning mainly for their solo abilities, but grew to just love the class over the years. Now, I'm aware that druids (nor any class, really) don't play like they used to, and have even heard alot of bad things about them. Of course, my friend is usually full of it, so I'll prolly end up picking Warden as my endclass out of tradition :)

Still, I'd like some insight from those, beta testers or otherwise, who've maybe experienced life as 2 or more of the end classes. Don't wanna choose til I'm absolutely sure! The 5th generation Stuffins (Stashy) line must carry on!

Cleric!! rahahaaha. If you were evil you could be an Inquisitor. Clerics really do kick **** though, we can solo, get great group Heal on Hit spells, and if you go templar later on (you goody goody you ;) ) you can wear heavy armor, and look fo'shizzle badass!

Man, I'm tired. Obviously.
