Anyone know where I can find a list (and possibly descriptions) of all the skills you can get for the separate specialties (Armorer, Alchemist, etc.)?

That link doesn't work. I want to know what skills the different classes get (i.e. Berserker, Paladin, Necromancer, etc.). Thanks.

I think this will answer your question.

At tier one (lvl 1 to 9) you can do ALL artisan abilities - alchemy, cooking, weapon making, etc. It has NOTHING to do with whether your adventuring class is berserker, summoner, or whatever.

To become a lvl 10 artisan you must narrow down to a scholar (alchemy, jewelry, and scribing), a craftsman (woodworking, carpentry and cooking) or a provider (leather, metal armor, weapons). This is tier 2.

To become a lvl 20 artisan u must narrow down to one of the three you picked in tier 2.

Again it has nothing to do w/ your adventure class.

To the person who didn't do the artisan quest on IoR:

Go to a newbie adventuring zone and look for minable rocks. Mine them for tin clusters. You need several of these.

Go to your town. Look for a cellar door and hail the npc standing there. Most won't let you join but keep looking. Eventually you will find the one you CAN join - just say yes to him and you can go in.

You will find a trade skill instance - a sort of dungeon filled with work stations - and a merchant. And a broker.

Okay, if u have 4 tin clusters buy 4 fossil tempters and 4 coals from the merchn.

Go to the forge. Find the recipe for tin bar and make 4 of them - we all start w/ this recipe. It's pretty easy, and tis lowbie stuff is almost no-fail.

Go back to merhc and buy 4 more fossil tempers and 4 more coals. Go back to forge and make 4 tin spikes. Again u start w/ this recipe too.

Now you should definitely be artisan lvl 4. Go to merch and buy the lvl 4 recipe book, rt. click it, and "scribe". Now u can make more stuff. Rinse and repeat. GL

Note - google "eq2 artisan help" or something like that - visit as many artisan specialy sites as u can. Like www.eq2.eqtraders.com. GL

Let me add this - if you don't start w/ any recipes you have to buy the "artisan volume 3" book from the merchant in the tradeskill instance and scribe it.

It may be that doing hte quest on IoR gives u the recipes for tin bar and tin spike - but if you just buy that book you should get htem, too. GL

Sorry I don't think there is an artisan 3 book - they seem to start at volume 4. So you must start out w/ the basic tin bar and tin spike recipes. Just join a trade society and get to the merhcant and forge in there - u should be able to work it out.

The classes have nothing to do with tradeskills.

The Race has a small impact because every race can choose one racial trait boosting one tradeskill. So far each race has 2 tradeskills available for selection.

For the skills used for crafting, above link (eqtraders) should supply you with the basic knowledge to recognize the skills you need and differentiate between tier 1, 2 and 3 skills.

Definitely one on my wholesaler.

However they have been changing these things around a lot lately so maybe that is recent.

and to the OP:

even if that link didn't work you should be able to cut and paste it into your URL window. EQTraders is an excellent site and has some good guides on getting started including a very comprehensive guide to the buffing and event-management of tradeskilling.
