LMAO Erudite men are pretty.... different.

A lot of people never guess I'm female irl.... but once in a while I do get asked if I'm "on the other team" because I might slip up and say "oh my god" one too many times, or...do something not quite hetero. But I ask "if I was, would it matter?" and so far the answer has always been "no" to me, but then I tend to try NOT to hang around biased underlings if I can help it ;)

Still, I can imagine seeing a big ugly Iksar guy (with a sexy tail) going "OMG!! omg!! these new chainmail pants are SO hot. They accentuate my buttocks!! ^.^;;" would be a little....suspicious. Lol.

I'm a girl gamer too...have been since the original pong..remember the 2 blocks with the ball? I have not been on the online community but for about a year. EQ1 being my first online game, and It was nearly impossible to solo in that game.
So when I heard about EQ2 I thought..why not. And I love it. I play with my hubby and I play all females. I currently have 3 Warriors at lvl 16 and playing a Shaman at lvl 11. Hubby works 3RD shift so I have alts that I play so I don't get too far ahead of him. As for making my Toons into my own image, I don't think so..haven't found the same mousey brown Hair as mine :)
I play all Elfs High, Wood & Half. And they all have bright blue eyes..which of course I don't. I don't get flirted with because I spend most of my time solo..so that takes care of that little prob..but have had guys ask me to help them kill things for their quest. ( Gotta love that.) I love gaming will still love it at 90 yrs old and blind as a bat.. :)

I am a woman in rl, and I guess the only way I can prove it to you is to make the following statements:

#1. I choose my character race by how hot I look. (I could never play a troll)

#2. It took me 30 minutes to pick out my hairstyle in character selection. I was amazed at how cool they all were...

#3. When I see a big warrior type, do stop , pan, and check out his ***. /flirt

OMG this is ME too!!!!
I made about 15 characters on EQ2 before I picked one, still I'm not satisfied....

I'm female and have always played female characters. I play with my husband and he has a hard time sending me naughty tells if I'm playing a male character. I think it's silly and would rather play a male character just to get away from the "want to cyber" tells (mostly in FFXI).

First of all, very nice topic. Love to read all your post girls, pretty funny. ^_^

I played FF-XI for a while and was a Mithra too. Not really because she was cuter than any other female caractere but only because I was a Ranger/Thief and I wanted to have the most successfull race at it. When I stoped to play and came back a year after, I started a Male Human, and well every Mithra I came by, I never anticipated them to be girls at first, so I talked to them like anyone else. But it turned out that most of them were girls, or claimed to be.

Oh one thing. In FF-XI, if you sit a Male Human over a Mithra they have a sort of position to stack one into the other. It was really cool when a girl showed me that, we stayed like that talking in tells in the middle of Windrust and people would pass by and say "Ohh!! There so cute!!" Was pretty cool.

I played SWG for a long time and was in the same guild for over a year and there was this guy in our guild that was playing a female caractere and played it for over a year and never told he was a man for real. And he was ALWAYS role playing a girl. The GL was in love with him/her so in time it became probably more and more difficult for him to tell the truth. So when the **** hit the fan, I came to play EQ II ^_^ hahaha I don't say he was wrong, but maybe just took it too far.

As of now, well I'm on EQ II, and I think my default everyone should play their own sex caractere. It would make the game alot more interesting.

Oh and by the way. Anyone from Qc, Canada??
<<< Looking for a gamer girl-friend. ^_^

I'm a girl too, Saphire on Lucan D'lere server, though i don't try to draw attention to it as i made the mistake of letting people know i was a woman on another mmorpg and spent the entire time trying to avoid the amourus attentions of all the men there who thought i should amrry them. all i want is to have fun. Whilst i am single i am not looking for someone in the game. Why can't we just be treated like people and not prospective conquests, sometimes it can make the games very difficult to enjoy.

I have to ask, why is it that if you play a female character, or mention you really are a female in RL, you get flirted with so badly? My husband laughs his butt off as we group with some guy and he's making his moves on me. Once my husband made the mistake of making a female woodelf and he was bombarded by gifts and flirtaions. (that was funny and I still tease him today about being such a tease).

On the other side, so many people will refuse to believe if you are a girl. Why is that? Is there something about the feminie gene that should not allow you to play? Does being female mean you will be an awful player? We girls know this to be untrue. In fact, we kick some major butt in gameplay. But it seems to be hard for many men (or boys) to grasp the concept that we love to play just as much as you do, and we're damned good at it.

Well men, I think this thread has proven yet again we women can be just as into gaming as men, and we can do some major damage to mobs like you. Smiley: grin

And dont stop flirting by the way. I have so much fun laughing at you when you try to win my attention. My husband enjoys the scene too.

Made a female necro in Eq1 to prove the above point to my wife. Within 30 min of saying hi to everyone I saw, Some guy had given me uber robe, staff and jewelry. Also given me a bunch of Platinum to "get a good start with". Yea I will say it, there are enough male "losers" out there who are willing to flirt with a female toon that a female toon can flirt her way into riches sad but true

This thread almost makes me want to start a girl character just to see firsthand how so many of you are treated. I am a guy, and my policy so far has been to play male characters in online games so that people do not get the wrong impression and think that I am a girl irl. I don't have a problem with people playing characters of the opposite gender as long as they are honest when asked about their gender, and are not playing a girl character just for the 'perks'.

A guy I know irl prefers to play female characters online (never thought to ask why), and he got pretty rich in FFXI at level 7...I offered to twink him out a bit (as much as you can do that in FFXI), but apparently the horny guys had already done the work for me. The money I offered him was pocket change.

When my husband made a female woodelf for the fun of it, in one day he was given an entire set of gear, 500pp (this was 4 years ago and we thought 34 pp was a goldmine) plus gems and jewelry, from about 4 different people.

I havent seen that myself ( must be because I play a half elf and not a woodelf) but I stil am given flowers by strangers, or rings. My husband didnt even tease them ( although I laugh at him now ant tell him he is a btter flirt than I am in game).

You men out there giving your stuff away for a pretty character... let me remind you. Its a toon! You have no idea if the person is a guy/girl/ young/old etc!!! You are giving your stuff away to a cartoon creation.

ut hey, if you still want to give... I am on tarew marr in EQ1 and blackburrow on EQ2.Smiley: grin

I won't even accept "gifts" from other players when they find out I'm a female, unless it's a truly good friend of mine and I asked for help on something.

I always ask myself.... ok, yes it's a toon. But do I want to watch girl butt running around for 5 hours a day, or guy butt?
.....or in this case, lizard butt? <_<;;;;; ouch, that's strange.

I've always had more guy friends than female friends, since we typically share more common interests. Loud music, violent cheesy horror flicks, always root for the bad guy in the movies sort of thing. I don't have many female friends - one or two- because I can't relate to them usually, I feel really out of place when they talk about hair styles, shopping, cute stuff ...lol. Ok, kittens are cute, but that's about it.

I'm reading all these girl gamer posts and I see a lot (like me) play with their husband or boy friend. I met a few couples in FFXI and that was cool, but they always thought Ivven was the husband and Dein (my husband's character ) was the wife, because Dein was a RDM and Ivven a Pld hehe. I don't typically like to play caster types, I want a sword (have 17 swords, 1 mace, a nice set of long knives, and an axe IRL) and I want to kill stuff muhahaha. ha. I like Inquisitor in this game though, but even now I'm working on a rogue and using my Inq. more for harvesting purposes lately.

And now I'm rambling. :P

I have played lots of MMORPGS and don't think I've ever been treated differently because I am female.

I've never had people flirt with me, or ask to cyber, or give me things, or been treated like an idiot. I don't hide the fact that I am a female either, so people usually know.

I now consider myself a 'girl gamer'. Being 48 I actually like the title - I like being a 'girl' anything!

A little over a year ago, after much coaxing from my husband I began to play EQ1. I had sworn I would not waste my time on video games with such conviction I actually ordered my pc without gaming capacity - doh!

Well - One level 69, nearly Time flagged Cleric later....I learned my lesson!

So now, as I munch down on another helping of crow... I really need to upgrade my pc to run EQ2. But it has been a wonderful adventure and a learning experience. I enjoy being able to share gaming with my hubby.

So rock on - fellow girl and I suspect mature, women gamers! I'm right there with you!
