Has anyone else had a problem where you don't get money from quests even though the NPC says "here, take this coin"?

The only quests in which I get any reward are quest that ofer items as a reward, but I never get money.

Edit: IoR I did get money and I have played through some of the Freeport quest with 2 different characters and got the same result.

You try clicking the green square near corner of the game? You need to do that before getting any rewards from quests.

That return to freeport thingy you get after the citizen quest?
