I narrowed my choices down, as much as i really think i can without some advice from people that actually can play the game since my comp wont be ready untill x-mas, im not totally new to EQ i played number EQ 1, but either way here are my choices and questions about them:
( Sorry if spelling is wrong )

1) Trabadour
- Does either bard subclass have a huge advantage over the other?
- Are Bard subclasses well liked in groups of melee or just heavy caster groups?

2) Ranger
- Hows the dps in this game?
- Are rangers expensive like in FFXI due to high arrow cost/consumption?

3) Warden
- How well does snare work in this EQ i have heard things such as it doesnt last very long and doesnt make a huge diffrence in movement rate?
- Are they the only class with effective snares pending 1st question

4) Warlock
- More based on dots than DD?
- Is lifetaps only real thing that seperates them from wizards?

5) Necromancer
- Pets any good?
- Wanted in groups at all or stuck to solo?
- Do they yet agian have more Mp err... Power Regen above everyone else? if so by what margin?
- is Snare / Kite or Fear Kite possible?

I know some of these questions are very specific and the game is still new, but im just looking for a glimpse if anyone can help me out, if you do Thanks in advance :P

And whats the most common race? (please dont tell me those blasted wood elves are everywere agian!)

Yes & No, really depends on server. I would say the first servers up have more in the way of elves, and the later servers are people trying out weird combos of races & classes (from an EQ1 viewpoint).

1) more play style preference from seen/heard.
2) Friends play mainly on Blackburrow, haven't seen too many bards period.

-Snares are underpowered intentionally.. They don't want Soloing to be root-dot-dot- rinse-repeat. See the SOE message boards for more on the subject.
-Other classes have movement debuffs, but believe Druid subclasses have the highest powered ones.

-Don't know.. friends and I played around with most of the fighters, priests, and some of the scouts.. haven't tried mages yet.

Fear kiting seems not possible. There is a higher lvl fear spell or two - I don't know anyone in game who has it yet.

Root-bombing and root-dotting work at low lvls. I haven't played my mage up, but under lvl 10 it often works.

DoT seems not to break the roots as often. Esp if you upgrade your DoT to app lvl 3, you can root, dot, and rinse and repeat - and kill it reasonably fast w/ out it ever moving once. Not every time - but quite often yes. Not sure if this continues to the higher lvls (a lot of higher lvl root descriptions say they break when any attack occurs).
