How do I get bait and go fishing? None of the merchants sell bait. The bait gathering quest is for the npc.

Fishing???Follow
To fish goto a body of water and look for a school of fish. As an example like the ones in Forest Ruins. Get close to the fish and double click them. No pole, bait, or beer required =)

*sigh* yeah I'm pretty bummed they took away my fishing beer.... and the lack of fishing interaction is a killer too. I really wanted to just stand on the dock, get drunk and fish like I did in EQ1 but now I have to run around in Nek looking for fish to "gather" *shakes head* and if I get drunk while "fishing" in Nek I'll become Dragoon-chow... LOL

I agree! One of my favorite pasttimes was going to Cobalt Scar and fishing for Cobalt Cod (my beloved cods, how i Miss you) using my trusty summoned fishing rod (I forget its name), which in turn summoned beer :) Now I've got no fishing rod, no beer, and no glorious hangovers. Poo :(
Well if you're on Unrest and looking for Beer I can brew some up for you and your fishing trip just lemme know ahead of time.

I used to carry around two extra poles cuz I would get wasted and break at least one =D My guildmates didnt mind though cuz I'd make fish rolls for DAYS and everyone would have massive amounts of food hehehe
