I screwed up big time.Follow

Well here’s the problem. My friend got the game first and powered through the installed and didn’t notice that he could select a server and the default at the time was the Runny eye server.

Naturally I wanted to play on the same server so I selected it. But here is the big problem I have. I work 2nd shift EST 2pm – Midnight. When I jump on-line its 6am over in the uk. Parties are about impossible to get during the weekdays.

I just did a server wide search and there are only 100 people in game as I type this. My friend went back to his other mmo. So I’m left with 100 people to interact with =/

I looked in to it and SOE charges $50 bucks per account that is moved on to a different server. Needless to say I’m not paying that this early on, but it’s the fact all my work, espally crafting is lost. I put in a lot of work and just hate to see it lost. I’d think about loosing the $50 but your coin and items are not transferable.

At any rate if anyone has a server suggestion let me know.

Didn't know about the limit. Armed with that new knowage =) I did a search for only people LFG as I know a lot would be selling stuff over night.

A whole server searched came back with only 34 players looking for group (all levels included).

Does your at least display 100?

Been leveling a figher because of my party invites woes. Theres 2 people in Forest ruins. Needless to say I can't even get a party with him lol.

Antonia Bayle and Lucan DLere are either heavy or "full" on a regular basis, I only see lag (and only just a bit) when I run through downtown Qeynos... for some reason Freeport has very little lag.

I know in EQ1 playing on a UK server had its advantages. Different peak hours. This usually meant that you had your choice of camps for the most part. US guilds playing on UK servers usually got the jump on raid mobs, just as TW players on US servers.

A few things I could suggest before you abandon that server:

1) set yourself LFG while you solo
2) occasionally /ooc 22 Trb lfg
3) in between kills check /w all lfg 18 28
4) find a guild to join, direct access to other players

1) I am 24/7 =)
2) I just use the search bar, I dont like spaming.
3) Sometimes I do this during a fight lol
4) Havent had any luck thus far. I do want to be a part of a guild, waiting to see some spam for joining one, or be invited by someone.

Problem is the time I play. Again last night 34 player on the whole server were looking for group. The ones seeking were not around my Troubadours or figher level either.

If anyone is a night owl so to speak, at the same times I am 12:30am - 5am EST could you please do a search and see how many people are lfg for me?

34 is a problem. Do to my job this is the only times I can play. Love the game but would hate to move on because of the lack of players at these times.

I hate 2nd shift ><

One more suggestion: Try to stay away from guilds that advertise in /shout /ooc etc. The best thing to do is go to eq2guils.org and take a look at the guild stats for your server. Look for guilds with high status points, or high kill:death ratios, or maybe you are looking for a good average level range. Use that website to find the right guild for you, then ask someone from that guild if you can speak to an officer.

Start a character on a different server and see if its better. I have tried 3 characters on 3 servers just to check things out.

About guilds, I generally just ask the person who is advertising on shout/ooc a few questions to get a feel of what the guild is mostly like. Most often you can tell immediately just from a few questions. But for EQ2 I joined a guild I've been playing with from AO and SWG. Good peoples they is, good peoples.

It would probably be a good idea to create on a server that says full. Ignore the fact that it says full and create a character on it anyway. It wont stop you.

Since you're going to be playing at night, you wont get the lag of a full population server because there wont be as many players on as at peak times, but will still get more people at night (I'd probably be one of them on Unrest).

You also get your pick of the vendors, because people often put their vendors up while they sleep.

At any rate, I play on Unrest and I've had to turn down group invitations at night because it was too late and I wanted to go to sleep (like 4 AM). But I also play a healer, so that has an effect on group invitations.

Thank you gxm for the good tips on finding a guild. That’s one thing I really want. I enjoy being a part of something and working together as a team. I find it more rewarding to work hard together, rather then solo. That and the other benefits.

I agree Arvec the /ooc and /shout may not be the best way of obtaining one. If the opportunity arises I will defiantly ask questions as you suggested. Last thing I want is to be apart of a crowd that I don’t fit in.

Elpheas I may just do what you suggested. Again if anyone could spare a few seconds tonight for me and post how many people are LFG between 12:30am – 5am EST that would be incredibly helpful.

On thing I should note that Runny Eye is a full server. Still a good suggestion DrkJeff =)

I am a bit used to this problem. It’s unfortunate for many reasons I have to work this shift. With the MMO I played the most, Japanese players were on the same time I was. The total population was quite large on the times I could play.

I just hope I can find a server with enough population at my times to be able to enjoy it. I’ve played a lot of mmo’s trying to find a replacement for the big one I left. However this is the last one on my list and I could really enjoy this one given the population.

I thought Matrix on-line was going to rock with the monk like play style to it. I played the beta and all I can say is /cry. I think I may be I bit to old for that game because it’s about the hardest game to grasp that I’ve played in my life. In beta thus far I’ve died 23 times in four hours. In EQII I’ve died 7 times to date (twice solo). Looks fun, but a little too hard for me.

Welp total searches show 66player at this time 1:08am The winner for the highest players lfg is Unrest Server. Twice the amount of Runny eye at this time.

66 players..........

All I have to say is I hope a lot of people are crafting instead tonight. Going to feel this server out for a few days. I hope I'm able to keep playing the game. Hate to loose out and uninstall.

I'm also in EST time zone, and playing on UK server.

I totally picked up RunnyEye by accident, when I started my first caractere, alot of server were UP, and I jsut happen to pick the UK one without realizing it.

I have been playing non stop for the last 3 week, got 3 caractere over Lv. 15 now. And I didn't notice as much what you meant. I play alot at night, as well as day. Maybe I just don't party as much as you do but, I found myself a good guild, that I haven't started to play with them at the moment, still need to work on some more level up. Although some are UKs some are USs. On the week-end, they are on until like 10-11pm, which might be a problem for you since you are not there at that time.

I asked a GM for caractere transferance also. He told me 50$ no item and 75$ with items.

But why the hell would I pay 50$ to transfer an empty shell? I would just give all my stuff away and delete my caractere and recreate it somewhere else, that's just stupid. So since I have been playing for about a month, I consider all my 3 caractere worth easily over 75$. For all the amount of time I put in them, easily worth 75$, so if I really want to, I might change server later because they todl me that service was not availiable yet. And maybe I won't. There are some good things about being on that server also.

Contact me in-game if you want, Hejiet.

Faydark server i think is everyone looking for parties 24/7. The /occ is filled with ppl lfg, looking for this, want to join party, etc. I dunno, try Najena server also if u want. Lots of my buddies from RL are there, but I don't wanna play cuz I have seen the affect of MMO's on ppl in game. They turn into jerks too often. Oh well, good luck =)

Oasis is usually full. As a matter of fact, when I created my toons, it told me it was "full", but allowed me to create anyway. Im not sure about the time you play, but I usually play until almost 4 am, EST in the US, and there is never a shortage of people. I usually have to turn down invites, if I want to solo.
