Anyone else get this problem? I play for about 3-4 hours adn I need a reboot, because everything becomes so slow. I start lagging like crazy and my zones take like 5 minutes sometimes.
Ive only seen a few people with the same problem, anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking it's a memory leak but anyone else have any ideas?

There is a common bug were after a couple zones you have so much information cached you have to reboot or crawl.

Picking up another 512m of memory helps, but its still fairly common.

There si definatly a memory leak of some sort at work. It has to do with zoning but doesnt get real bad until after a dozen zones por so.

Ive never had a problem but I do have 1gig of ramm and a jacked comp. Ive also played over 10-12 hours straight with no problems. The only time I get minor problems is too much group casting when there are multiple groups next to me.

I have over a gig of ram and badass computer but I experience the memory leak as well. After about 5 hours of playing, I either lag so bad I know it's time to reboot OR the game crashes with a memory error. I've spoken to a few dozen people on my server who say the exact same thing. It's a memory leak of sorts.

Aye - they need to fix it pretty badly, It's getting real annoying having to tell my group to wait for me.

Its a memory leak that occurs when you zone.
Need to be fixed but in the meantime all we can do is relog once in a while.
Yes, thats right... relog is enough, no need to reboot your puter.

I am relogging or rebooting as well, about once every 2 hours. I have 512 memory but I'm getting another 512 today and I am hoping it makes a serious improvement. I find I always have to reboot after crossing through SQeynos, or if I have to zone a few times quickly.

I hate to hear that others have to do the same, but I am also glad it's not just me.

Definitely some memory leakage. 1.5 gigs of ram and it still fills up. I prolly won't install a third party memory manager, but rather just close and reopen EQ2 every few hours. Reminds me of AO during the first year.

I have a 1 GB of RAM, two 74 GB Raptors in RAID0, and a A64 FX-55 and I still occasionally get severe lag and slowdowns after 2-3 hours of playing, typically when I am grouped in full dungeons. It's the game, not people's machines.

768 ram and a 128meg 9700

I play for 12-16 hours some days. there are a couple zones that lag me but I don't have to reboot to keep playing.

There is a known memory leak. I've got to reboot every 2-4 hours of play. Just something I have to do until Sony figures out the problem. Some of the lag is due to high traffic zones, like cities etc.. After you've played awhile your memory cashe does get loaded and needs to be purged. 1gig of memory helps delay the need to reboot, but eventualy you will have to or you get so lagged you can't move.

Hopefully Sony is working on something, from my skimmings of the Tech boards on EQ2players Sony is deffinitly aware but, hasn't offically accknowledged the problem.

Same issue. W/ 512 ram memory leak while zoning would kill me.

Added another 512, no problem since.

Comp is mid grade: AMD Barton 2500 on Nforce2 MB w/ Nvidia FX5200.

No lag on my end while playing, server lag in very populated zones from time to time, but that is on SoE's end.

Yeah this is a HUGE issue. I have 512megs of RAM and cruising through cities is a pain in the ***. It definitely is zoning related as if I stay in a zone for a while I don't have the problems. Sony better accknowledge this and get working on it, imo it should be #1 on their list of things to address. Pisses me off they are making a killing on this game and release it with huge bugs like this.
