Does anyone know what mob drops the ranger pet spell "Phyn's Hunting Hawk"?
I have a new ranger and can't find this spell.

I do not have the app1 spell for some of these yet. When I inspect I get the message that this item would be a good match for me. Do not want to risk 15sp to find this out so will ask here, do I need the app1 skill to scribe the app2 ?? Thanks!

Also pet seems to do nothing when i tell it to attack it says it can't do that BaH.

Read a long post about the hawks on the official EQ forums. One guy claimed that his hawk would attack if he was cloaked/sneak. Another claimed that his hawk assisted him in finding any NPC in the entire zone.
Most of the people that I have seen in game with them tell me that they are just eye candy.
Even if they don't do anything, they do look cool.....
