Caster Stats and spellsFollow

I'm not really a numbers person because I prefer to simply have fun and let the dice fall where they will. I am currently level 22 and have received most of my experience from quests. I have some great gear (all the pretty green numbers!) that cons mostly orange to me. Last night, as I was in a party for a quest, someone checked me and asked me why I was working so hard on building up my Agility instead of my Wisdom. I looked at my stats and lo and behold, my Agility is 72 and my Wisdom is 53. I looked at my gear and it has more bonuses to Agility than Wisdom.

My question is, how much better would my spells be if I switched 72 and 53 to 53 and 72? Would my heals and nukes be more potent? Would my Nettleshield cause more damage? Would my buffs be stronger? What exactly does Wisdom (or for this matter any stat) do for me as a Priest class? Would building up Strength and Agility allow me to solo better? ^_^

Note: I only solo for my quest requirements. I prefer to be in a group to meet new and exciting people while I enjoy playing a video game. Also, due to FFXI burnout of 'best gear' and 'perfect job/subjob', I no longer care nor look at stats.

Not sure about it letting you do MORE damage per hit, but it will give you more mana/power to use.
It should also help you gain skill-ups faster when casting, etc...

I don't know that a comprehensive study has been done yet on what the specific stat do to affect your abilities. I don't believe the change to potency of the actual result so much as how much you can do a particular thing (i.e. how large your power pool is), how durable you are (i.e. How many hitpoints you have), and how well you do certain things, (i.e. Agi helps your avoidance I believe)
