How do I do the "training" at level 10, 20, 30 etcFollow

From the Clan White Storm Page:

Training
As you develop your character, you'll be able to specialize in major aspects of your profession. About every ten levels, you can choose to focus on one of your core abilities and receive advanced training to improve it.
For example, a priest could train and receive either a stronger heal, a more potent buff, or a higher-damage nuke. This ability would be of much greater potency than the typical granted spell and may be upgraded even more through adventuring.
Each profession gets similar choices that play to their strengths – fighters may choose between offensive and defensive enhancements, or mages may focus on improving a damage spell, a pet, or a stun spell as appropriate to their profession.

From the Prima EQ2 Strategy Guide (pg 60):

Training allows further specialization in two or three areas every ten levels. Each time you gain a new Training technique, you can improve a previous specialization, or start a new one.

So finally my question:

I never received any pop up about training at level 10, and can't seem to find a trainer for these abilities. Are they referring to apprentice 1,2,3 etc. or is there someone I need to talk to that is escaping me?

I'd appreciate any information as I'd hate to be going through my brawler/monk teens and not have all I had coming to me for help.

Thanks for your time,

They are talking about char traits , which are bugged right now so no one is getting them :( They should just pop up everytime you are to choose one , you shouldnt have to go to any trainer .

Quote from EQ2 live : "Just wanted to let folks know that we're aware of the issue of characters not receiving their traits, traditions, and tactics properly. We've got the issue corrected on our development server, but we want to test the system for a while before it goes live.

When the update goes to the live servers, everyone's trait/tradition/tactics choices will be reset and will need to be made again. This means you will be able to make different choices if you so desire.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This may have answered my question as well - I've been looking for a Cleric Guild for training - now I know not to waste my time.

My other question is: How do I increase my ability so I can equip armor? I have received a couple of armor loot drops that suit my level but I get the message that my ability must be over 15. I've been fighting and questing quite a bit and am almost level 9 now. Does it just take a long time to increase? Am I missing something that I need to do to increase this ability so I can equip armor?

Thanks for input and for the above info.

Increase in this ability comes with an increase in level. It doesnt skill up like some combat skills. Basically, its SoEs way of doing required levels with EQ2. Doing it this way allows some classes to equip a certain type of armor before other classes do sometime.
