New to EQ2, and have a quick question on apartment rent. Is the money automatically deducted from my bank on day 7, or do I need to actually pay the Innkeeper (or whoever) in person?

Don't want to lose that lovely empty apartment, now do I? (Hmmm, or do I? Could be another good question there ....)

You have to pay to gain access to your appartment. All your stuff stays intact, but after the 7 days you wont be allowed in until you pay your rent.

You do not have to pay rent until you actually want to go back in.

After it becomes due, it will be deducted when you try to get back into the room. If you don't have the money, you are locked out until you do.

i was thinking that, when you request access, it says that the rent is due, and gives you the option to pay or to not go in... meaning, it's not an automatic deduction.

in addition, if you make others trustees of your apartment, they cannot pay it for you, even though they can do just about anything else. and, of course, no one can visit your apartment if you are not paid up :).

Can you explain more on how Trustee on apartment works? Does it make you able to share an appartment with someone? What do you have to do after someone makes you a trustee to gain access to that apartment? Thankyou

a trustee is able to enter, move things around, and even place and remove items, so be careful who you grant it to. putting the character in as a friend has fewer options, and visitor can only enter and walk around. visitor is the default when you are set up to sell things. no access is the default to begin with.

to enter someone's room that you have access to, right click on the door and choose visit. type the person's name into the filter box and select the name. it'll tell you if you can't get in.

you can access the menu to add people to your list by entering, and then turning around and clicking as though you were going to exit. there's a tab on that box for "access" and it's fairly intuitive :).

hope that helps, makes sense, and is correct ... i'm not at home and can't look to make sure, and don't trust myself to remember to answer it tonight... i'll try to remember to check it when i log on so i can see if i was right ;).
