I think the more appropriate way to put what you said is if you like to punish yourself EQ2 is for you while if you like to have fun WoW is for you. At least IMO.
i'm sorry but no one plays that game because they want to punish themselves.
WoW and EQ2 definitely have different audience regarding play style, and not age group. It might seems WoW is aimed towards the younger player base and that could be younger players tend to have the same play style, but I shouldn't speculate. I played both games and found EQ2 suits my style better. I see people having trash talk in the general chat and seldom help other players in WoW, whereas in EQ2 I seldom see fool talk and people are more willing to help. Maybe it's just the server i'm in but if that's what I'm observing that means everything to me.
some people suggest i could simply solo and ignore those I don't like. Well if i have to ignore the whole community in order to enjoy a game, then why i'm paying to play an online game? why don't i just play a single-player game? I'm not saying everyone whop plays WoW would fit into the above description but
most of those I met do. I got other suggestion of changing server. Again, when I bought the game I didn't expect I'll have to search for a server where the ratio of nice players to jerks does not bother me. Again, I'm not saying everyone in WoW is a jerk, but
most of those I met are. You could have a different experience but that could not change my first impression of WoW. I play a game becasue I want to have fun, and if the community prevents me from doing so, then the game serves nothing to me.
