Crusaders and AxesFollow

Sorry if this was covered way earlier.

I have a level 16 Dwarf Crusader. According to EQ2's official site, the instruction book that game with EQ2, and most other sources I should be able to wield an axe. However, I did the Oh, Deer Me quest and chose an axe as the reward. At the time I thought I was too young to wield it (it was red), but later checked and realized I didn't have the axe skill period.

So my question is, do Crusaders no longer get the Axe skill? And if not, do Pally/SK get it when the reach 20 like they do heavy armor skills?

As we move further up the specialization chain, we actually lose some of the weapon skills. Like how we lost axe and staff skills from fighter as we moved to crusader. We will probably lose another set of weapon skills as we move from crusader to paladin.

This will probably be offset by gaining new skills that are specific to the class and subclass.

** I was slightly dissappointed when I could no longer wield a bo as a crusader. The bo staff combat animation rocks.
