Bards like rgular casters?Follow

#1 Nov 30 2004 at 12:33 PM Rating: Decent
(Disclaimer: Okay, maybe I'm biased. I mean, my primary character on EQ1 was (is) a bard. So EQ2 comes out, I naturally make up a bard because I love twisting and running faster than even someone with SOW.)

Is anyone else thinking that the bard class is no longer "unique" like it was in EQ1? Used to be we were the only class where most of our buffs affected the entire group, we could maintain up to 4 songs if you were a good enough twister, and Selo's was just a lot of fun as well as being useful as all heck. Now the only way you can get a buff is to be in a group with the mage/priest you're getting them from and usually you have to stay in range...just liek the bards in EQ1.

Am I missing something here? Or am i just too hung up on what used to be?

I can understand where you are coming from, but I'd just let the past go... they tried to make the uniqueness of the classes in the abilities they have and the roles they play. I loved bards in EQL but I found it rather tedious to never be able to engage in a conversation...

I will admit there was something rather "pianolike" to having the play the keyboard like that, however... :)

This isn't directed to you in particular, but to the many posts on this site commenting (complaining?) that things are different in EQ2 than on EQ1. If people want things to be the same, there is a simple solution -- play EQ1! It hasn't gone away. If EQ2 was exactly like EQ1 there really would be no point to the game. Just an observation.
