I've played both game but WoW couldn't hold mt attention like WQ2 does now. Maybe that's because I played EQ2 before WoW so when I started playing WoW my EQ2 char already was in its youth whereas in WoW I'm only a newbie. If I could've tried WoW prior to EQ2 I'd love WoW. Who knows? As of now if I've to rank these 2 games, it'd be like this:

EQ2
gameplay: 9
graphics: 9.5
sound: 8
player-friendly: 8
solobility: 7
fun: 8.5
overall: 8.5

WoW
gameplay: 9
graphics: 8
sound: 9
player-friendly: 8
solobility: 9
fun: 8
overall: 8.5

*player-friendly means how friendly the game is to us, such as computer requirement, UI, lag issue, etc.

gameplay: Both game could be quite addictive. Both game could make you feel you're within the fanatsy world. The quest systems in both game are awesome. each has its own adventage so it's rather hard to judge which is better.

graphics: It is a fact that EQ2 graphics are better than WoW. Even though no one could take full adventage of EQ2 graphics that doesn't mean its graphics sux. Given time, maybe 1/2 yr to 1 yr, people should have system powerful enough to run the full graphics EQ2 offers. I don't mean WoW graphics sucks either. It requires very little system power but it can still deliver pretty decent graphics and I admire that. I always use one point to decide which game has better graphics (of cuz I'll look at other aspect too but this is the first thing I'll look at), and that is how real the water textures and dynamics are and if you turn on all the water texture settings in EQ2 and compare with WoW max graphics setting, you'll know what I mean.

sound: WoW wins in this department. EQ2's sound just doesn't deliver the world. I don't put music in this section because no matter how good the background music is it'll get repetitive over time, but sound effects won't. I'm a paladin in EQ2 and when I rdie my horse, there is NO SOUND whatsoever while my horse is running. Even when people walk there is sound but no sound for horse? and when you are in a dungeon EQ2 doesn't have the proper sound effect with that. On the other hand, WoW has the best sound effect i've seen err... heard in a MMORPG. WHen you're in a forest it makes you feel you're there; when you're in a dungeon, it makes you feel you're there; when you're in a castle, it makes you feel like you're there. I don't mean EQ2 don't have any good sound effect. there sure are, but it just doesn't deliver enough as WoW.

player-friendly: as stated above it's how frienldy the game is to the player. WoW wins in computer requirement. EQ2 wins in server down time, lag, etc. Both UIs are great. A tie here.

solobility: the possibility to solo thoughout the game. although EQ2 markets as soloable, after lv 20 you are pretty much forced to group to accomplish any quest. SOE has promised to add more solo content to the game in the coming months so this could change. WoW however is really soloable. Although I'm only a lv5 warlock my friend is already lv 20. I watched him play for an hour and realize this game is REALLY soloable.

fun: Both games are fun to play. This is a rather subject view so I gave a higher mark for EQ2 because I found it more fun (probably since I'm in a guild and got my subjob).

overall: I gave them the same score because both games have their own adventages and disadventages. They are both pretty new so we should not judge which is a better game on the current state. The above are just what I experienced and observed so far, so if you have a different views feel free to discuss. I'm not what other calls a "fanboy" of either game; I only play the game the satisfy me the most. I won't have much time to play either game in teh coming weeks cuz of school work, but hopefully I can get a deeper feel of both games in the winter break.
