People with ATI Radeon X800 XT...Follow

I currently have a Dell 8250. Do you know if I can use a visiontek X800 XT on a Dell system. The Dell is my first computer and I won't be buying one from a brand name again. I want to slowly replace parts little by little and wanted to be sure that some weird Dell technology won't reject the new vid card.

With that out of the way, has any experienced any problems with this card or is it all peaches and cream?

Don;t want to Nvidia 6800 because I don;t think my power supply can support that huge thing.

I am using the X800pro AGP. If you are worried about your power supply for the Nvidia card...worry about your power for the ATI X800. I think they say it requires a 300w power supply depending on what else is in your pc. Does your Dell pc have PCI Express or AGP slots? Just asking as this is Dell we are talking about. As far as problems...nope, not a one (yet...knock on wood).
What video card came with you pc, how much memory did it come with as well?

What's the dell model number? I can probably tell you what standard cards will work in it.

I don't know about model number.

It's a Dimensions 8250
It came with 512MB(2x256) PC1066 RDRAM
P4 2.4 GHz CPU
And I got the ATI Radeon 9700

There is just that problem of Dell making things "funny" that I'm worried about. I heard Dell had low power power supplies but the motherboard can run at higher than normal performance on that powersupply. Some "special" Dell technology that might make it reject upgrades.

128mb ATI 9700 card. ATI's website says those are AGP 4x/8x compatible. It's just the Dell Factor I'm worried about.
