Completed the subclass job quest for Guardian this past Saturday at level 18. Got a level and 2 bubbles left to go before I can become a true Guardian, though.

Anyway, just wanted to know if others who've done their subclass quests have had an easy time? Granted, I died in my first foray because I made a stupid mistake, but the second time around was easy as goblin pie.

Have all of you needed to do your quest solo? I would assume so as this would be the trial of one... but am unsure.

I did the Guardian quest over the weekend right as i hit 18... I have to say that was WAY too easy. It was so easy i did a /feedback to let em know about it.

I am lovin my 2hs weap i got for that though!

Well, this isn't my sublcass... BUT, the Qeynos scout quest (to get your class) sucked. Having to run out to the other side of Antonica just to chit chat with some NPC and run all the way back was blah. I'd much rather just have to sneak around some where or something. :P

Nothing too difficult and I can't wait to get to 18 and start my Ranger quest. :)

Anyone have any advice on the Ranger quest?

Inquisitor test I did just last night as soon as I dinged 18 was pretty crazy...and fun. Long fight, strategic...made sure you knew your spells and how to manage your energy. I liked it.

I did the Illusionist trial at 18 and I found it easy . I watched while my hubbie did the Pally quest and also had 2 friends do the priest quest ( 1 druid and 1 shammy) and all 3 of those trials were much harder then mine . I had to kill 4 mobs and I got agro of them one at a time ( which I found funny as I am a CC class) while all 3 others I saw had many mobs that they had to deal with .

In the chanty trial you are zoned into a special instance of the mage tower in Sqey . You zone into a huge elemental pet that you shouldnt attack, looks like he would kick ur butt anyway :P Well I figured out that he wasnt my target ( didnt take much)and began to look around for the real target (reminds me of the level 10 quest where you had to find the dark elf hiding behind the boxes)anway I zoned up to one of the 3 towers and there was an elemental pet sitting there waiting to kick my butt . I won with my life in the orange and went back down to go up the other towers . One tower at a time the same thing happened , zone up and kill one single elemental pet , after 3 towers zone back down and kill the big huge pet on the main level . All fights my life was in the orange when done but I had tons of mana left over , and made sure I regened to full before moving on each time . After the big guy died I had to zone out and back in and that was that , too easy considering what the others I saw go thru and the fact that I did it at 18 easy LOL.

I died the first time when I tried the paladin quest because I thought I have to kil every gnoll in the instance. Then I asked here and found out I only have the sneak in and rescue the villagers. Tried second time and succeeded. Once you know how to do it it's pretty easy I say.

I did the Illusionist as well with very little trouble. I waited until 18.6 when I get breeze and that gave me a ton of mana and made the wait time between mobs shorter.

I talked to another Illusionist that said that if you wait to long the pets will repop, making the final mob a Lvl 27 headache.

I did the illusionist one last night. The three elementals were fun to kill. The Golem was a let down considering it was yellow to me and I still had 50+% of my health and mana when the fight was over =/

Rogue and Swashbuckler were both super easy as long as you upgrade whatever Sneak ability you have at the time.

Thanks all for your replies. So far everyone has completed their quest at around level 18. That's pretty interesting. I suppose it's more of a stepping stone to your subclass where you have to use your head and good judgement?

MURedskin:
You can find out who you need to talk to in your manual. I'm uncertain of the actual page however, as I'm currently at work and do not have the document with me. Good luck with your quest. ^^

I did the Bruiser subclass quest a couple nights ago at lvl 19..it was basically simple. Went to kill some dervs, drop I needed was on first mob I killed. Went back, had to go into a Storage Room instanced zone inside Serpent Sewers. Killed one large but surprisingly weak mob. Two others spawned after that, I whacked 'em both hard, they went down too easy it seemed...think they were both green and 1-2 arrows at the same time. Headed back to Capt. Monarvia and got my Cestus de Molestus, a very nice Dual Weild spiked whacker.

Brawler class quest was way harder if I remember, multiple mobs after another with little to no time to prepare...or maybe there was and I just rushed it. Anyways, that one was a close call but I was still breathin'.

All of the class/subclass quests I've seen so far have been easy if you played them smart, and hard/impossible if you just charged in trying to whack everything in sight.

Just think about the situation, and pay attention to what your trainer wants you to do. Don't get distracted by the extra stuff.

Mine would have been difficult solo (the first part where you have to kill bloodsabers for scroll drops in Vermin's Snye), but I found a monk a level higher willing to help out. The second part, the part done solo, was pretty easy, I suppose. I had to heal after each round of skeletons, and I had to use my HO repeatedly to defeat them, but I never got lower than 50% health and 25% mana. IMHO, being slightly easy was better than the hell that was the sub quest in FFXI (if you got your skull on the first try or by accident, don't talk to me or I'll rip your face off).

I did the mystic sub-quest at 19. It didnt show up for me until 19.

It was pretty easy. Not even a challenge really, and I had pretty cruddy gear at the time.

The only annoying part was having to run around through the Down Below and waiting for quest mobs to jump me. It was easy enough to do completely solo.

The spear that was the reward was pretty decent.

I enjoyed the Qeynos Dirge quest, but was a bit suprised to not have to do ANY fighting at all to complete it. I managed to sneak around and evade the patrolling guards and such. It was actually a nice change of pace from the "if it moves, kill it" kind of quests that older games offer.

You must have rushed in. I did the quest last night with my level 8 and did not have a problem. the first 2 were blue, one was white and the other was yellow. Took them all one at a time.

Gotta agree with the Paladin quest. I started mine the moment i hit level 18. I marched in and started killing stuff until i saw there were two red groups. Thinking how outrageously difficult it would be to have to handle those I realised all i need to do was sneak around and free the prisoners. To make sure the prisoners didnt get hit on their way out I took out the wandering mobs anyway (two green groups and one yellow...which took some doing!) but i assume they weren't necessary. Took about half an hour and that included healing up fully after each fight and going to make a cup of tea :)

Cheers
Minky

Wow, this is what I have to look forward to? Exciting! I just got the first part of the Aventurer Status Quest (I know I am far behind you guys). I am currently a fighter and have to go kill some cave spiders to see if I like being a warrior. Then I have to try a quest as a brawler and again as a crusader.

I think I am going to go the route of Paladin. Thanks for giving me a sneak peak at what I have to look forward to for that quest!
