You don't have to press the assist button (not like it would take a lot of time even if you did). Just leave your main tank highlighted. Most of the time, I don't have to change positions at all when switching mobs and if I do, it's only a very small amount.

Wait a sec... Brawlers or bruiser/monk? big diff there buddy. If you are playing with brawlers with your SK, then that pretty much sucks.

You know what I mean, don't try and go into semantics.. Brawlers before I was 20, Bruiser after 20. I didn't think it was necessary for me to say:

I wasn't impressed with Brawler's when I was a Crusader and I wasn't impressed with Bruisers after I became a SK.

Then you are grouped with some crappy bruisers man. Straight up. I wasn't trying to get into semantics, type what you mean and there shouldnt be any miscommunication.

Ya, I guess every single brawler/bruiser I've grouped with sucked and you're teh owner.

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you. I'll try to keep everything really simple for you.

I'm not saying they weren't doing more damage than my SK or the other tank/fighter types I've seen. I am saying that they couldn't hold a flame to the good scouts and mages I've played with.

also note Brawlers would be doing more like 20+ rather then 19 on average I hit for 20-25 and get in a nice 35 hit here and there, rarely do I hit for less then 15, very rarely.

so its more like

Akeru hits skell for 20
Predator hit skell for 8
Akeru hits skell for 18
Predator hits skell for 9
Akeru hits skell for 23
Predator hits skell for 7
Predator hits skell for 7
Akeru hits skell for 21
Predator hits skell for 10

so ok notice while the Brawler is doing 82 the scout is doing 41, add in the posion damge scouts doing 81-86 damage.

so ok wow hes either 1 under brawler or 5 above him.
but last time I checked I now have this wierd skill called fiery fist which tosses in 5 or 6 dmg here and there so say I land 1 out of 4 hits yay now im even or one above scout.

So umm yeah Scouts dont out Damge brawlers and if either does its realy small, at least when we look at base melee damge.

But then look at abilities dun know about your guys experience with scouts but I have not seen any scouts busting out crazy numbers with their skills. I however reach 40-60 damge depending on which ablity I use, and my apprentice 2 bruising strike does like 50 damge regularly, soon as I mine a silver cluster or two my damage output will only go up.

Are you like 10? Do you have to turn a topic debate into insults? I understand your playing your lvl 15 predator now, hence your need to take it personally. IF you actually get to lvl 20, you will see yourself how crappy you were as a predator. Till then buh bye.

LOL, sorry if I offended you. It's really not my fault that you confuse so easily. You were trying to get into an argument of semantics to make me look bad and I called you on it.

Of course, aren't you a bit of a hypocrite for insulting me because I insulted you? Yay, we're both 10 year olds now.

<sigh> I hope we can bring this all back in line, as to have an adult conversation guys... I just wanted to clear a few things up... When I stated predator I did also mean one of the two sub-class's that you can be post predator (20+). Irregardless, calling the predator crap is not at all accurate, especially when we are talking about DPS... that is their cup of tea.

I purposely left abilities out of my log, as I was just demonstrating plain damage with no additional buttons being pushed/clicked. If you bring abilities back into the equation this is where the predator, and sub class's shine even further. I have yet to see a brawler, or any other melee class hit a mob for 188 in a single hit. Not to mention hitting with abilities like pierce, bleed, impale, quick strike, ambush, back shot, open shot that can be chain cast to deal incredible amounts of damage.

Shadow blade on average hits for 120 for me, sneak attack about 60, pierce at 50ish, impale also at 50ish, quick strike another quick 20ish... Bleed also continues to damage the target like a dot. Back shot is well over one hundred, open shot can add another 50-100 depending on how many arrows hit. Then add on Blade Flury and WHAM! Then once your done you can start them up again. These are the hits that I was seeing on most predators when I was still there, and I've never seen another melee class do as much in a short amount of time...

All of this takes power though, so a rogue will usually match or come close, where as the Brawler, or any other warrior class of similar level will not.... Go into post 20 and you'll really begin to see the difference.

Again, I guesss you need it simplified for you. Calling me a 10 year old and a child is neither accurate or non-insulting. I'm glad you got mad because that was the intent just as it was your intent to **** me off by saying:

You knew exactly what I was talking about yet you chose sidetrack the entire discussion.

Are you talking to WrakeStormwind or me? If you're talking to me, why should I give you my name and server? Why do you want it? Wanna get your jollies off by creating characters and harrasing me? LOL, no thanks.

On second thought, bring it.. what do I care. It'll be fun.

Change your access on your achievements at eq2players.com. I want to see your 188 hit with your 258 attack.

LOL, you really do have problems understanding simple things don't you? I was just trying to be sarcastic earlier but it turns out there was a bit of truth in it after all.

Since you lack reading comprehension skills, I'll point it out that it was WrakeStormwind that made those comments, not me.

I wouldn't doubt his numbers though. At lvl 14 (I'm only about 1% into lvl 15), my highest hit was about 110. He's at least lvl 17 (made reference to blade fury). In 3 levels, I could see myself doing around 180.

It was directed to both of you.

Yah, its under admin. Click on your char, then on the right side go to admin. You have to log into the site with your eq2 screename. The site actually kicks ***. It updates your stuff, and your guild achievements and what not.

Was directed to both of us? How exactly was that directed at both of us when you just went and looked up my character on eq2players and quoted my attack with the damage someone else quoted?

[edit]

There, now you have permissions. Happy?

I have problems logging into the site with firefox. The Admin tab is greyed out half the time and it works the other half (even after I log in again). If you're using Firefox or Mozilla, try using IE and logging in.

I think either the site or mozilla has some security issues with the login cookie since it's cross domains.

You cant choose a class based on DPS... Two main things. a) Like everyone said, its mainly HO's (heroic opportunities) and b) Its how you play the job and choose a class you like. You cant go around playing the assassin just b/c it has the highest single hits.. (I think it has the highest dps also but that just opens a can of worms :\) another thing.. why melee? I played as a bard, rogue, fighter, and cleric and love cleric the best.. its just maily b/c I like being in controll of the fight. With cleric you can manage your health with heals.. manage damage with damage spells.. and I can solo mobs i couldnt solo with my bard, wich is at a higher level. Anyway just choose a class that YOU like.. not just something that has the best DPS.. I knew a guy in FFXI whom i wont name.. *COUGH*ELIMARIR*COUGH*... and he was a Dark Knight for a while.. but then switched to ranger cuz his dmg was too low and it was too expencive (lol the irony).. anyway I was a dragoon, and my damage was good but the reasonwhy i played drg was because in my opinion it was the funnest "job". GL, and hope I see you guys in the game. ^^

Ok Cardiak, I have it updated... It took long enough. I do apologize, my highest melee hit is 181 (188 was in beta at about that level). And the highest magic hit so far was 274 (was a sweet HO combo finish). I hope this clears things up, and trust me, things only get better for the Predator class's DPS are concerned if things are the same as they were in beta.
