Ok, need some guidance. Several basic questions seriously need answering. if there is any instructions books in game, pointing to that would also be very helpfull

1. I really do not understand the whole tradeskill system.

I did the initial quest on the newbie island (workstop quest, take ingrediants to shop and assemble) but after that, then what??? I tried buying everything I could that appears to be used for tradeskills, but I keep getting informed that I am not yet qualifed to accomplish this, or something like that stating that you are not yet at that level. I have yet to see any instructions on how to do this. How do you get more receipies?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

2. Spells

Ok, I keep hearing people mentioning about apprentice II, III etc, but I only have received Apprentice I spells. Are these more powerful versions of the same spells, where doyou get them from, do you get them automatically like the Apprentice I spells

3. How do you get into these societies? I only found one that was interested me, but everyone else keeps saying I cannot allow you to join this one?? Again no instruction, please help

Sorry to rant, I love this game, but I am so overwelmed with what to do that it is taking some of the fun out until you understand how to do something, please help, thanks

When you first get a spell, it is aprentice 1. Vendors can sell you aprentice 2, and aprentice 3 are made by players.

Adept 1 are only dropped off mobs. These are indeed just more powerful versions of the same spell.

Ok I will try to help you the best I can. As my tradeskills leave a lot to be desired. First ...Check your information menu, where your quests, inventory, and all are listed. You will see a Recipe heading there. You may buy more recipes from venders when you are ready to improve your skills. First practice the quest you started on Island of Refuge, keep making those tin or lead bars. As those are the basics of a lot of tradeskills. You cannot do a recipe which is above your ability level, so practice with lvl 3 tradeskills. This is the level you should have been at when you did the one on the Isle of Refuge. Now while you are in the process of completing the recipe, you will see different spell attacks pop up at the bottom of the tradeskill window, you need to counter these with matching pictures in your Tradeskills/Spells Book. (found on the same menu you found the Recipes on...it is listed as Knowledge for this book) And if you go to the Wholesaler in your Tradeskill area, he sells more recipe's. you will see them numbered from 3-9 I believe. Once you have bought your recipes from this guy, examine them, and click on the Scribe option. This will put them in your List of Recipes immediately, so you can use them. Unless they are above your tradeskill level. Then it will say you are not qualified or some such thing.

You now want to know about SPELLS, app 1 is given to you as you level and earn these spells, Level 2 apprentice spells can be bought, and I had to use my tradeskills to make the level 3 apprentice spells. Which by the way, I think I had to buy the level 2's first and have them scribed before I could scribe the level 3's that I made.

And as far as societies go....you will only be invited to join one of them in each little town that makes up the City of Qeynos....and you said that was the case...so that is where you want to go to practice your tradeskills for right now. And that is also where you will find your wholesaler at, downstairs in a corner near the stairs. I also found out that you can go to N. Qeynos to the Ironforge Estate, on the side of the building you will see an entrance that looks like it is going to the basement, it will allow you access into the Tradeskill areas also....

Thank you both for your replies. I still have alot of questions, but at least now I have a direction. What I gathered from this is the following.

1. For tradeskills keep looking for receipies until you buy one that will let you scribe it. As it stands, everyone that I found so far basically tells me that I am not skilled enough to do that yet.

2. Great explainations on the spells, Ill still need to learn how to research them, but at least I now understand some of the terms, like the adept, that one really had me going

3. I was really hoping to get in the society in willowwood that seems it would be allowed for woodelves/ druids, but It must not be what I thought it means, so Ill just join the one that will allow me in, and we'll see where it takes me from there

Thanks for the suggestions so far, any others would be great, but I now have something to get me started, thank you

Don't forget to check out the Wholesaler in your Tradeskill area, he has new Recipes for you...When YOu buy one parchment (Or whatever the recipe paper is called) from the wholesaler, it will produce several recipes when you examine & scribe the parchment.
