[rant on] Ok, last night I was working finishing up aq4 in the edgewater sewers. Everything was going fine and our group was rolling thru with little to no problems. A group or two was in there with us and there were plenty of pulls to keep us all happy.

Everything was looking good when out of the blue some crap *** guild comes in and decides to raid the place. Now don't get me wrong, I know they have the right to be there just as we did, but they were raiding a damn lvl 23 quest! I have never been a big fan of "zerging" so right off the bat I was disapointed in their skill. What is worse is they came in, stood right on top of the two groups that were there getting along just fine, and set up pullers at every spawn spot in the f'ucking dungeon.

My group and the other group just had to sit back and wait for about 45 minutes until they were finally finished and moved on. To top it all off, they wiped! Thats right 16 plus people wiped on a quest that me and 5 other players were owning and they wiped because some idiot in their raid pulled about 4 or 5 non-agro frogs!

Both my group and the other group tried to be nice and say things like, "Hey you are camping right on top of us and taking every spawn in the dungeon." and, "If you guys let us kill 5 more rats than we will be out of your way and you can raid this place if that's how you would like to quest." To which they responded, "This is our camp now!" and this little gem, "There is power in numbers and you are weak!" It was on then. I may have overreacted a little, but I let them have it. I'm just glad my account didn't get banned from some of the sh1it I was saying. The only good part was when they wiped and we tore them a new ***'hole. I even turned myself into a frog and chased them around the dungeon laughing. [rant off]

If any of the people who were in said guild and in edgewater sewers last night are reading this, I have no problem with you as a person. I'm sure most of you are generally pretty good people. I do think that your play style is lacking and you need to practice raiding and proper player edicate.

This was a pain in the *** quest. It took me 4 nights, one lost shard, and plenty of debt to finish. The feeling of accomplishment is that much stronger now that I have completed it.

While I may not agree with everything you said specifically, I do agree with you that people need to be polite with each other. I get upset when I run to a node just to have someone harvest it before I do, but I at least smile and look for another one.

Let's not let this game deteriorate into FF11 in anyway. Be polite. It's only a game and there's no use in getting horribly upset over every little detail.

Enjoy the game and next time it happens man... just say, "Hey guys, can you move down a bit?" Be polite and they probably will. Yelling and screaming about things tends to make more problems than it solves.

:)

Just my 2 silver pieces.

This is my camp.

Then the angry insulting back and forth.

I saw that so many times in Kazham and Valkrum and Boyada Tree in FFXI

I hope I never see it on this game in my server. I'm sure I will but man, I had my fill of it already.

All your fears and suppositions will be realized. It's only a matter of time before this is an every camp problem. With no mechanism or policing in place, whats to keep it from happening.

I applaud the efforts of those who are polite, but when left to thier own devices, when for the most part will poor social skills change?

Oh God yes.

Valkurm:
"HEY WE WERE CAMPING HERE", so then what happens? You have about 50 camps in various spots around the same little area with the lizards (same with the beaches when folks hunt crabs and then pugils).

Thank GOD there are many options in EQ2 about where to gain XP. You can do fairly well hunting in the beginner dungeons in Qeynos and Freeport, and about level 12 or 13 you can either go to Antonica / Commonlands to group up and xp or you can go to the catacombs / sewers areas.

I am glad SOE gave more options for gaining levels (hell you can even do quests for levels, which my Crusader did from going to 12 to 13, lol).

This issue is simple...

Its a matter of player edicate<can spell sorry

If someone invades my "camp" I usually say in a polite manner excuse me but we are camping here and people say sorry my bad or whatever

sometimes people dont see you or are just passing through, but you get those occasional rude people...

I have lost my self control before usually its because it was a rough day or whatever but I always appologize for my outburrst to the person, cuz I know how it feels to be passing through and some guy chews you a new one, not cool lol

well just my 2cp

peace

Another thing, in FFXI mob spawns were ....slow. You'd have your puller running around for 5 minutes or more looking for a mob. At least there always seem to be plenty of mobs in EQ2.

If I see the place getting crowded, I just move. I'd rather avoid conflict.

I hate that too. Sony needs to lock nodes once u start and provide more of em. When a game is too much like work...

Regarding that guild coming in and pushing you guys out, if that becomes common in this game, I'm going to... well, I've yet to collect my prize, and I still have my little tin box and crap that came w/ the game. Hopefully it's worth what I paid for it on ebay or someplace.

Hey, if that ever happens to you again, you may want to zone out and see if you can zone back in to a different "instance" of the dungeon (Blackburrow1, Blackburrow2, etc.). I think you might have to degroup to do that and regroup once inside the new one. That was a cool trick in Anarchy Online in their few dungeons. ANyway, hope that helps. GL all!

While I agree that steeling a camp is the ultimate in rudeness, and yes you where there first, intead of getting into an /OOC issing'p contest just zone to a different "instance". thats an option you never had in EQ1.

See, some friendly competition could be good too. For example, if there was a Freeport-aligned guild camping in Antonica, then some Qeynosians could you know, compete with them, adds some depth to the whole Freeport-Qeynos thing.

But it'd have to be done in a friendly manner.

Storming in and slaughtering stuff and then laughing and looking like a jerk is a totally different story.

I guess the Freeport-Qeynos rivalry would be more adequately played out on the two role-playing preferred servers, but I am sure it could happen on any of the servers.

I vote we hang'em.....Ill get the noose.....

(In no way do i support the act that i just mentioned.....I just like making nooses)

Anyway at least the twits got wiped. Thats just shameless.

"Haha, My guild is stealing your spawn! I am your God now! Fear me for Im L33T!" Must be a little kid to say this (well not exactly that but I like spicing it up) or they were immature 30 year olds. If by chance you remember any of their names blacklist them and hope one day their parents will revoke their credit card rights.
