the note tells you "where" to go to find the coins for citizenship but it doesn't tell you "what" to kill.. this is correct..

usually if nothing specific is mentioned as the target of the quest that means multiple things will do.. When I did citizenship in Quenos I had to go into the down below.. and managed to get the coins from bats, rats, and slimes...

however, one clue.. if you kill something and see a big blue message saying something like "you did not find any quest items" or something like that, that means you're killing something that will drop the quest items you need and just need to find more of those.

I've run into similar problems, but speaking in very general terms, I usually discover that the real problem is that I didn't read quite far enough, or that I missed something crucial in the first reading.

I too was instructed to go to the Down Below, but I also had another character which had to go to Oakmyst Forest I believe it was....so be sure to turn the pages on your book or note....there is usually a place on the note to Read page 2 or whatever or ask about things in the note....There will be a location to find your coins....My problem was stupidity when I first did my citizenship quest, and it popped me into that room after I found the coins....I didn't realize there was another section of that room to kill NPC's in....Well I did finally find it...but most people were of no help to me when I was trying to figure out where those traitors were at....LOL.....Just Stupid I guess.

First, I believe the coins are located in the Down below. That sounds exactly like my citizenship quest. A place that should give you more info is your quest journal under the EQ2 tab at the lower left of the screen. Sometimes the Quest objectives are explained in more detail there. Still, you may need to go to Oakmyst forrest or the Peat bog.

Second, there is an entrance to the down below in all the zones to be used as an alternate means of travelling. You should be able to locate the one in your zone pretty easily.

Good luck on your quest though. I had some trouble with mine as I recall, but its pretty smoothe sailing after that as the class quest at 10 was pretty easy.
