#1 Nov 26 2004 at 12:06 AM Rating: Default
Wow. If there is 100 gold in a plat, then 1 plat is costing around $2,000 dollar real money on the MMORPG currency trading sites. Yowch. At least on Blackburrow server :)

What would you do with that much right now anyway. I'm not in that much of a hurry to stack myself with a lifetime supply of bread yet. :P

Although I might not be that far into the game yet, I rarely spend money on anything else beside scrolls and food. The armors and weapon you get by quests are definetly better than NPCs. Yeah I would buy a mount for sure. And everyone's 10 space backpack Tour Antonia quest. And a big house with alot of furniture.

Well in the end... I could use that much gold!! ^_^ But it would kinda suck, everything takes much better when you earned it yourself, doesn't it? :)

Aye especially you couldnt go buy kick *** armor or weapons since you could not use them anyway. so no point being rich really.

buy a horse maybe. but that cheapest horse cost more than 2 plats. so u need around $4k. I can buy a new computer with 4k. shrug. but some morons(Yup, that what I call them) would buy it.

Horses cost over 1p? You sure about that?
I just feel like I heard some about a could of 2g's and no more.
I have seen quite a few people with horses, no way they would have get 1p in like 2 weeks.

Some classes get a horse as a status symbol at lvl 20. Kind of like the wizard familiar. That might be what you're seeing. I really don't think anyone has made enough to buy a horse.

Personally I want a flying carpet, those cost pp + guild status points.

The pallidans lvl 20 fun spell is the Holy steed, which is more likely what youre seeing.

As for the price of horses, I saw the highest price was around 9pp. For ow thats quite a lot of money, but better than 100k in EQ1 for thebest. We'll all get there eventually. Until then, just enjoy the game and watch your money acrue

Who would buy that besides a moron with Mommy and Daddies creditcard? I'd buy a new computer or some stocks long before I'd ever even consider that. You'd spend less playing the game for a year to save up your own plat.

Heh, I'd say eq2 currency is safer than the stock market these days ;)

I love it that money isn't so important for getting equipment. It's great that we can actually hunt and quest for our items and they are worth the effort.

Personally,
I hope the cost goes up even higher. I think being able to buy game currency/items online detracts so much from the game, especially one that is so new. Once I have 1plat in the bank, I will know that I worked hard for it and will have the experience that comes with that hard work. Now I know a lot of people feel differently about this, but remember, you don't have to flame me, we can simply agree to disagree. :-)

Stuff like this almost makes you want to grind for hours to get a few gold just to sell it for a few bucks less than these guys. :D

Hehh and considering the best guild houses are 64 plat, thats 64pp x $2,000 (if 1pp is 2k) = $128,000 .... wow, I'm in the wrong business LOL

Well... there is definetly money to make in the gaming industry.

I from now on, consider myself a full time gamer.

40h/week + the 60h/week I was actually playing.

Mouhahahah!!!
