Hello there
Today I was haversting mining etc... a guy showed up and began to harvest my spot, I'm way ok with that, sharing is cool.
I said hi, the guy doesnt reply and take off, I was in forest ruins. I see the sam guy, he does the same thing at the same node I was on, I say hello again, no answer.

Almost each time I say 'hi' or 'hi guys' or any greetings I dont get any answers -.-
I mean come on it's a mmorg, they should go play diablo or something if they want to ignore people to the point that it becomes rude and annoying.
I do try to ignore that but...yeah it's bugging me!

Oh and yeah, if you dont like that either and want to add one more moron to your Ignore List, his name is Angerer (with such a name I now wonder why I even said hello haha )

so my point is : Please, say Hi, be polite, courtesy is free and you'll get so much more on the long run by being nice!

I attempt to say Hello or answer anyone who ever makes contact with me, be it in a tell or in say. I even got good at talkin ta ten people at once not long ago. I was one of first ta get a Paladin mount (at least one who wasnt afraid to show it :) ) and had tons..and i mean tons..of people asking me about it. At one point i was just in game answering questions. It was wonderful :D

You'd probably get better results with a /tell or a /wave. I miss a lot of things that are simply /say, as I'm not always watching that window for important information when I'm busy with something. However, I ALWAYS respond to a direct tell, and I do see waves and bows and respond in kind.

A good majority of all the people I have /tell’ed to so far have ignored me when I asked them a question pertaining to their class. I’ll give them benefit of the doubt and pretend they just didn’t see my tell though.

I have missed a few tells here and there just because the UI is so clunky, got a window for every type of chat channel just to seperate the spam, I always try to get back to them, the other night I replied to someone and it was an hour later O_o

Yes but if you see a toon waving I'd assume you see the "hail" above his head ? Anyways.. it's cool, tonight I celebrate my two golds ^^ if I cant find compagny at least I make a little money :)

I try and atleast hail back to all the hails I get, but I have yet to tweak my chat box to the way I like them so I do miss some people saying hi. My friends give me a hard time if I don't hail them back =P

/tell is probably the best way. I was checking through my chat log, and noticed I had missed /say several times.

Yes, right click on your chat windows and click on "add new window" (something like that), then right click on your windows and adjust the filters.

I have a windows with all the crap chats (battle, harvesting, etc), a window for group/raid chats and another one for my tells.

I miss most of my tells so it's not the good way for me to catch a friendly hello or a question, i missed one last night, the guy must have thought i was ignoring him, i reply but too late :/ My tell window is at the bottom right of my screen since that's the one i use the least.
