Lurkblister a Notorious Monster?Follow

I was doing the Bog Sludge quest in the Peat Bog when this giant sludge named Lurkblister...I think...(who registered as red to me at level 9) came out of nowhere and killed me. When I revived at the zone it was chasing one other person there, too. I'm new to the EQ system but I was wondering if he was some kind of Notorious Monster.
