Creature/Monster Master BooksFollow

I am wondering where all the Creature/Monster Master books are hidden now when playing good side. In Beta all books were sold in the Magician Tower in South Qeynos.

Now with the final Release these Books are hidden somwhere in the world. Do any of you know some of the spots where these books can be found?

What does reading these books do for you?

yes you get a Mob specific buff or spell (depending on class) when collecting all the parts described in the book - usually lore parts from mobs that you want to master.

@jute:

the books where sold by the guy ... surion? the one who gives the catalog quests as well?
There must be much more books. Anyone knows where?

The books I saw were sold by a female NPC up in the tower. If you go into the middle stream it takes you up to her.

I never had to find a book. I did a quest when I got to level 14 I think that had me kill some Gnolls and *poof* I got this Gnoll buff spell thingie.

Do you mean the female NPC in the library? she does not want to sell to me - just talk :(

Seems there is no way to get Mastery Buffs for melee similar to those you get granted when you choose your tactics.

Are these Mastery books really only for casters?

Not positive about the mastery books, but when I hit level 14 (iirc) I was allowed to choose what race I hated more (orcs or gnolls - I'm evil). Instead of getting Orc Master Strike (verified for sorcerer) or Orc Master Smite (verified for druid), I received Orc Master (can't remember name - I'm a warrior) that imbues me with a proc for 3 minutes. When fighting orcs it seems to fire 2-3 times a fight.

Creature Mastery Books need to be found around the world. They do not give you a special ability like they did in Beta. All you get for completing them is a book and a trophy (weapon), both of which can be placed in your instanced apartment. The current list I have atm is as follows:

Orc - Found in the Commonlands. Examine the shield on the wall inside the building in the Crossroads. (VERIFIED) Reward=Bow Trophy

Skeleton - Library of Stormhold. Lying on the floor next to a fallen over bookshelf. FYI, the library is another zone inside of Stormhold. It's deep down inside, click on a stormdrain in the floor. (VERIFIED)Reward=Great Hammer Trophy

Gnoll - Keep of the Gnollslayer (In Antonica). Inside a box near the Inner Area, two boxes will glow, one's locked, it's the other one. Evil Races can do. (VERIFIED)

Zombie - Fallen Gate. Inside a Vase near the market. Once you get to the pond/water. go up to the left past most of the tents. It's in front of the last tent. (VERIFIED)Reward=Morning Star Trophy

Siren - Enchanted Lands. Found inside the first hut from the docks. (NOT VERIFIED)

Giant - Thundering Steppes. Under a tarp in one of the Sabertooth Gnoll camps. It's at Location +1397,0,-392. It's right next to the second Antonica zone in/out, the one in the Gnoll Cave. (VERIFIED)

Centaur - Thundering Steppes. On a bookshelf in the Village of Thundermist. It's at location +595,+2,-151. It's inside Holly Rowan's Hut. I'm not sure if others have the same problem, but the book was invisible to me. I noticed my cursor changed to a hand near the bottom right hand corner of the bookshelf. (VERIFIED)

Treant - Nektulos Forest. In a crate on the beach. (VERIFIED)

Goblin, Enchanted Lands, follow waterline to the left from docks. Keep going until you hit a wall, follow wall right until you get to some towers. It's in one of those towers in a drawer. (NOT VERIFIED)

Other books that existed in Beta, but have not been found yet are: Bixie, Evil Eye, Drakota, Golem, Shadow Men, Elemental, Ghost, Fairy, Lizardman, and Nightblood. All info was found on the internet from various sources.

The Stormhold zone is on the East side of Antonnica, North of the Steppes Station. The zone is not marked on the map, but it looks like an abandoned.....government building. hehe The Library is impossible to find for a newbie to the zone (like I was). Ask someone to guide you, I found a very nice player on the Befallen Server that knew the zone very well and was glad to help. The "library" as it's called is another zone inside of Stormhold. It's so far down steps and more steps, that it's probably at the botttom of the zone. It's a stormdrain that you can click on to zone in. Since I'm the one posting most of the info about these tomes, I'll try to do a better job of directions and locs, but I was running around in there for almost 2 hours before I started asking for help, so couldn't give accurate directions atm. Mobs were green and blue to me at lvl 22 though. Invis or a group are needed to get that far down. I just went with invis and had no problems.
