I was running EQ2 with an Nvidia FX 5200 card and it was choppy, laggy and very low quality.

I broke down and bought an ATI Radeon 9800 pro All-in-wonder card and it looks beautiful now.

I'm curious to see how future cards will run EQ2. Unfortunately my Asus P4P800 Motherboard does not have a PCI-Express slot, so I'm stuck with AGP 8x. As far as AGP 8x goes, you can't go wrong with the ATI card.

I hope this isn't a big no-no. :) Set me straight if it is.

no, you can plug hardware if you like, just be aware of what you are talking about. you are compareing the lowest level nvidia card with an upper level raedeon card. That's like comparing a volkswagen bug with a ferrari.

P4C800 Deluxe mobo, GF FX5900 Ultra, 1024 Corsair Platinum, P4 3.2 ghz CPU...runs great at any settings except I do occaisionally get a little choppiness in small zones with a lot of pets & people. I used to run a freeware RAM manager, don't really know if it helped in EQ or not. May try it here to see if it unloads often enough to make a difference.
