Ok, i got my copy of EQ2, all during the installation i was itching to make the studly barbarian fighter that would eventualy become the studly barbarian paladin, which has been my dream ever since EQ1. I was always mad that Barbarians that worshiped mithanial marr couldn't be paladins. I get everything set up, click on the barbarian, and lo and behold, THEIR FUGLY!!!!!! Why oh why did SOE take the awesome looking barbarians and make the, look like Ogres from EQ1!!!!!! DAMN YOU SOE, FOR RUINING MY DREAMS ONE AGAIN!!!! /cry

I won't be able to play till Wednesday when my new Video Card is installed, of which I also have a question for on a different post. Here I was just going to ask if someone knows if the Humans in the game are f00glier then EQ1 humans? Because I want my Monk or Bruiser to have Spiky hair. So my question is, is their a race that can be Monk or Bruiser that will have a spiky hair model? *Iksars don't count :P*

Hahahaaa
Don't feel bad my dwarf looks like a stunted 40 year old, at least the rest of the races get a cute and "young" look.
And don't even get me started on the HUGE hips and breasts the females have. I just know there is a sony artist out there with a weird idea of female anatomy.

I don't think they're that bad - you just have to do some work with the eyes and facial features.

I wouldn't even have tried EQ2 if they had used EQ1 Luclin models. The EQ2 models are an improvement in some cases but they could have spent a little more time on them in my opinion. The only clear gain was in character animations which are much better and almost realistic.

And what is up with all these bouffant hairdoos? Long hair isn't an option for any race/gender.

The game is up and running, that's what matters for now. Lets remember, though it was about a year, one of the EQ1 expansions totally changed the appearence of a lot of the chars. My advice is too stick with it and wait to see if they plan to do that again with EQ2.

hehe well the barbarians do all look a tad silly in their facial expressions, but if you work on it you can make them look ok.

Trolls crack me up, they're so UGLY! haha.

Ogres are freaky looking.

Iksar : my fav.

Gnomes : GAH!! SO TINY! My Iksar gets hungry and thinks Gnome burger might be ok to try, they'd fit easily on a hamburger bun.

I think the character models are pretty well done over all, some are humorous, others bad ***, some are just plain ugly. Nice diversity.

I'm happy with the way all the characters look. Well, except for Kerran. They look like real cats and all, but something about them is odd looking to me. I know I'll eventually get used to the look though.

Oh, and my iksar is pretty!

hmm well they did slightly improve on humans in the final build relative to what was in the CCD, but they're still a little dumpy / frumple looking...

but who plays human anyway???

I thought the barbarians were allright but you REALLY have to work at it to get some great looking Barbs...

however.. Juri is the prettiest red-headed High-Elf you'll ever meet. ^_~

and Nerris is a stunning little 1/2 elf (also red-head.. hmm.. a trend).. course you'll never meet her as she's likely sneaking up behind you right now to slit your throat and take your purse.... O_O

I was looking forward to making a Erudite Pally. The Erudite Pallies in EQ1 with all the plate just looked awesome!

The Erudites in EQ2 look like a stretched out ET I'm serious I made one and my GF kept telling me to "phone home, ET phone home" Smiley: banghead

So I wound up making a Gnome mage, he's almost done with his wizard quest. He's not as cute as EQ1 Gnomes but oh well. I am not completely happy with the direction they took the character models. Gnomes look really cute when using emote animations. Do a /woowoo or a /yeah once in awhile, I like to /flex after a really hard encounter. Has all the othters in the group laughing. Since I'm normally the only "footstool" in the group.

Don't get me started on the armor and how everyone in your class looks the same (Mage classes anyways) atleast the leather & plate wearers can change stuff up to make them distinctive.

For some reason, the hairstyles are annoying. It really seems to be the least of all the evils when you pick one. I tried to make a Drow and he kept looking like a girl.. :(

Gnomes have that cute jabber language. Back when VO were working, there'd be one gnome I kept on seeing that would only speak that language... soo cute.

There's one (or is she a halfling?) in North Qeynos that has this really nice voice... o.O; I'm not weird... stop looking at me like that.

The female swagger when walking is... yeah. O.O

Sorry, kinda threadjack.
