How do these work, where do you get them, how much do they cost and what do you do to make them ?

When you arrive to your city of choice from the Island of Refuge, go and find the inn... Right click on the door... You will see three options. One will be the option to take refuge (rent a room, apartment, house, what have you - but it won't be called refuge). The first room will be free to buy, but rent costs 5 silver each week... Well at least mine does...

I have a question about this too.
Just what is the whole idea of having your own place? Do you get something from it in the long run? Or is just a way to show off your success and wealth in the game?
Thanks.

It is said that you will be able to store items in your establishment, but I haven't seen much more on that. Otherwise, it can be used to entertain guests, have parties, and celebrations, if your into roleplaying.

You can also sell your wares from your establishment versus selling your merchandise through a broker which takes a percentage of your sales. Selling through you home allows you to bypass that take. More or less, its a one room bazaar...

I would like a Bazaar area though, like one block in each city. Would be nice, I like the FFXI shopping system ^^
The house system is nice too though, I visited a house and it was really big, I'm thinking that must be targeted toward the guilds.

I understand how to set up a store. How do I place storage? What do I look for in items to buy or make that tells me that they are placeable and that I can store things there. Or are we limited to banks and mules again?

Currently there is no storage in houses. No idea what SOE is planning at this time.

That blows. I'm already bank full. Crafting is ridiculous, or you have to sell extra intermediate parts, or you have to do ridiculous calculations. ARRGH
